"Memory Fox 7.4 has stopped working" Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Any ideas why? Using pale moon 25.7, is there a compatibility problem?

Thank you very much for this addon! I've been looking for some solutions to deal with Firefox's memory leaks, when I stumbled upon this. I have no idea how it actually works, but now my laptop can finally handle this browser, which I'm used to and would have hard time switching to some other. Now I can at least have ~10 tabs open without FF consuming 80% of all resources.. Thank you!

good apps!

Works but needs a ui tweak Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It does the trick, and lowers the memory from 200M to about 20M. I have no idea how this will impact the performance of firefox in the long run but I'll see.

There are only two problems: firstly that the button that appears next to the url bar is a bit too big, and makes the whole toolbar a few pixels bigger. But that might be because of some other add-ons I have.

the second problem is that the button cannot be removed. If it is removed by using the customize option, it will appear again next time I start firefox again, with two messages saying:
ReferenceError: BrowserToolboxCustomizeDone is not defined
1. [ Memory Fox ] failed to add button to toolbar.ReferenceError: BrowserToolboxCustomizeDone is not defined

This was already explained by umesando, but in Japanese. He did mention a solution to this problem (not being able to remove the button) by going to \chrome\content\mfxOverlay.js and replacing the 559th line:
if( !_branch2.getBoolPref("tlbBtn") )
If you can't find the file, try searching your profile folder for mfxOverlay. The solution worked for me, and I only mentioned it here, for everyone who doesn't speak Japanese (and would never attempt to read umesando's review).

Tremendous impact on Firefox performance! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Dramatic change in Firefox performance noted immediately! Previously, I had been running MemoryFox v7.4 by IDEVFH and CleanMem (it's mini-monitor add-on gives a non-intrusive graphic for monitoring memory usage). Memory usage would creep up (to 70%) with time and FireFox performance lag (then stall at 75-80%). MemoryFox appears not to have a lasting positive impact on browser speed.
However Memory Fox Next is registering consistent 45-50% memory usage on CleanMem. FireFox can have 120+ tabs open (approx 25% auto reloading) with 8GB RAM.

I have to give partial credit to Flash Control (FF add-on) for control over which sites are allowed to display the Flash player or the HTML5 player. I believe the combination of Flash Control and Memory Fox Next make for a tremendous improvement in FireFox performance.

Superb job strelnic!!

@ Ned Ludd,
I got my copy of the Pro version from the developer of Free Memory Fox Next. If you check out his link you should find it. I wish I could find a serial # for it as you can't buy one now.

It worked for me in Windows 8.1, 64bit and especially the memory fox for all applications just rocks!

I have released a new version solving the annoying popup dialog issue and enabling locales (which was causing the issue). Also you'll find a working link for the 64-bit application.

Does anyone know how/where to download the "pro" version for W64 now that IDEVFH is deceased and his website no longer active? The non-pro version doesn't seem to do anything to reduce memory usage in my W64 machine. Alternatively, any suggestions for what the best free memory management add-on or stand alone program is? Free Memory add-on doesn't seem to do anything beyond producing a pop-up. Much thanks.

Still no one is kind enough to upload huh? Strelnic, that was an old issue long ago resolved by IDEVFH. He simply passed away...

A Brilliant Addon which has been Discontinued Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The addon by itself is very effective. It reduced my Firefox's memory consumption by 60%. However, the addon seems to be discontinued, with the developer's site invalid. It also generates javascript message everytime the browser loads, and the error messages indicate that the addon does not support customization of it (translated: you cannot move it or hide it from its original location, which is left side of the address bar). I am using Memory Fox Chinese Version to work around this. It's a shame that this addon has been left undeveloped.

has anyone got the memory fox pro version they can upload for me thanks...i have windows 8.1 firefox 33.0

Okay, but has bugs Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Seems to work fairly well but it has a problem. I activated the events notification but it generates a pop-up window which is very annoying. I tried to deactivate the notification but it won't turn off. I unchecked the box for events and restarted Firefox but no success.

Also throws javascript errors during install and uninstall.

This addon clearly has bugs.

It really works. From 1,2Gb (Windows 8.1 x64, Firefox 32, two streams running) to 400Mb.
