Install Button??? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Downloaded it, saved to hard drive, went to Tools, clicked on Add-ons, but I have NO INSTALL button anywhere to load this extension. I'm on the newest version of Shredder. I went out to the Bugs listing and found nothing about a problem with this. Any ideas?

Better than Outlook so far Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Still just learning it but I am not missing Outlook so far.
Concerns:
1. Copy and Paste events?
2. Help to research above seems lacking
3. Custom Multiple date events where you can just click random days would be good.
4. Can't search on Calendar in Add Ons in Thunderbird section and get Lightning.

This should receive more press as I held off on TBird because Calendar seemed not ready for prime time. So far, I would say it is or at least close.......

Good Idea Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I downloaded .8 for windows and Linux (Puppy), I installed it on both. Linux version worked very well. The Windows had a event creation issue and an uncomfortable layout. After reading the reviews I went to .5 version for Windows and love the layouts and it works great.

Only one compliant - and it's a REALLY easy fix. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My only complaint is that the word "calendar" is not listed here in the addons.mozilla.org description, so I was unable to find this by searching. I only found out about it by reading a review, and since installing it, I've discovered that it is WAY better than all the other calendar extensions for Thunderbird out there! It's even better than M$ 0utl00k's calendar! VERY GOOD ADD ON!

I wish it had a two more fields in it. One for Event start date (like DOB for birthdays, or Ann.) then the total years that have past from start day to current date. (40 years old)

Email Invitations Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I love it, however there seems to be a bug that means when I update a calendar event it sends emails to everyone with a change of date but the time always remains the same. I am also unable to accept or decline invitations that come to me from other email clients.

64-bit Vista Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I loved Lightning with Thunderbird on my old XP machine. However, I had a problem with adding it on to T-Bird on my new Vista based machine. Turns out that the issue was that it was being blocked by my firewall/virus software and I was not getting any kind of notification due to the way that Lightning is added. Fortunately, it is up and running now.

good, but .. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Functionally becoming very usable.
But, stop blanking out calendar during checks for updates.
Stay responsive to user input during updates.
Cache the current state on the machine so that it can always be displayed without checking network calendars.
Update to cache and then display?

OpenSuSE 11 64bit Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For OpenSuSE 11 64bit, please use the "Lightning for Linux x86-64" version. It works! ;-)
You find it here:

Calendar sharing Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Would be great if it had the option to share an ics file as I already share thunderbird and sunbird across Linux/Windows
New Calendar falls over when accessing 'over network' to calendar in shared folder on C: drive

Does not install on OpenSuSE 11 64bit.

Upon install there is a message saying that the build type of thunderbird (Linux_x86_64-gcc3) is not compatible.

Brilliant! THIS was the bit of Outlook I was missing most, and with this added to T-Bird, it is an absolutely Ace package. Thanks!
