Excellent

To the developpers : Tasks = is it possible to allow user to exclude participants in a task, especially when converting an email into taks, as it includes all recipients of the email by default! ThanX

All I was looking for was the ability was to see the Outlook Calendar emails in the proper format, but this plugin gives you so much more. It's great!

Hope this will always stay up todate.

I suggest to install "Lightning Nightly Updater (Unofficial)" and update the plug-in using that.
That way I can get the plugin working even with Thunderbird 3.0b2

Better integration needed Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I am puzzled why this is an add-on for Thunderbird and not a separate program. Surely the reason for making it an add-on is to integrate with what the host program already does? While I discovered that you can drag an email to the task/calendar icons, it seems that this just copies the email and doesn't retain the link to the original email. So I can set a task to respond to the email but I can't then reply to it without searching back for the original email. More trivially, why separate icons for calendar and event - why aren't they part of the tree presentation like the rest of Thunderbird? The distinction between tasks and events seems somewhat artificial, but I was disappointed that task deadlines don't show up in the calendar. On balance, though the presentation is slicker for Lightning, I still prefer ReminderFox because it works with email not like an independent application.

Thunderbird is a great email client - and Lightning makes it even more helpful.

I would recommend this plugin to every business person, individuals may not find it as useful as businesses.

It can open iCal and Outlook invitations as well, meaning if your friend sends you an invitation, and he uses a MAC, you can still open and accept his invitation.

Great integration, and a wonderful plugin overall - 5/5.

lightning calendar Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great product. It would be more useful if there is a way to synchronize it back and forth with my google calendar along with appropriate visibility settings when friends see my google calendar.

Lightning 0.9 Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi!

If you are using Ubuntu 9.04. Do not install Lightning 0.9 by downloading the xpi-file and from Thunderbird install it. Instead use the synaptic.

sudo apt-get install lightning-extension
