essential add-on!

works with FF 4.0, used Add-on Compatibility Reporter to install (and submit compatibility report).

Works fine with Firefox 4.0b12. I'm using Nightly Tester Tools (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nightly-tester-tools/) to force add-on compatibility.

Unfortunately, the author's page is dead. There hasn't been any new content since 2007.

The functionality should be part of Firefox by default Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works well and does what it promises. Tested with Firefox 4.0b10pre (2011-01-12). The only change required to make it work was to update the max version in install.rdf.

Useful feature Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on does exactly what it promised: provide a method of copying that removes all text formatting.
However, for future versions, I think it would be even more helpful if the add-on gave the user more options. For example, sometimes I want to preserve the italics in a document.

Works fine for me in FF 3.6.11.
I am using this function (prev. with Copy Plain Text) for years now - simple & effective. Therefore five stars. BTW: Often addons don't get along with other addons in the basket. So if not working you should try to deactivate your other addons to find the bug.

Not working Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Used to work great, new computer so new FF install and nothing shows up with the right click and if you go to add-on and select this add on it will lock up FF. I followed redit's advice and installed from the suggested source and so far so goo.

no worky Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I have installed twice on FF v3.6.10, restarted twice, no errors, but there is no trace of the addon in the context menu or the addon listing. it just isn't there

small bug - throws out line breaks from <PRE> html tag. they should be preserved for <PRE>-formatted content

Great.

Extremely useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is fantastic. Immensely useful for web developers. Thanks very much.

A suggestion: it would be ideal if text trimming options were offered for the 'Copy Plain Text' function, like those offered by the Copy Plain Text add-on (which this otherwise replaces very nicely), i.e. 'Trim space around text', 'Remove extra spaces', 'Remove empty lines', 'Make as default COPY action'.

Just what I needed.

Not work. Try copy translated text from google translator to outlook. I get blue background each time.

Thunderbird? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very useful tool.

Any chance of it being supporting Thunderbird?

Does exactly what it says and perfectly so. I miss it in between version shuffles, but am always glad to have it back once updated. Can't use Firefox without it! (FF 3.6.3, Win 7 Pro 64-bit)
