Merci ! Thank you !

Now you can tweak the colors to your hearts' desire and see the outcome in the open calendar without leaving the prefs window -- just click 'Apply'.

Good add-on, but I echo some other people in saying it would be great to be able to customise colours - in particular, the colour of "today" in month or multi-week views. The pink that this addon changes it to is slightly better than Lightning's default yellow, but it's still hard to see unless you search...

When displaying an event that lasts for multiple days, I would like to see it running accross the days rather than repeating it for each day! Please add this!

Great Lightning enhancement Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The different colors filling the complete event rather than just a small part of it make the calandar so much more readable. Thank you very much for writing this add-on.

multiday events Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As I have already said in my previous reviews, I love this addon as it provides a visual upgrade to Lightning in Thunderbird which is not only aesthetically pleasing but it actually enhances the usability of the calendar function, particularly if you are using TB on an Exchange server. With this addon and the Exchange provider, Lightning becomes better calendar client for the Exchange server than Outlook, while keeping all the benefits of TB over Outlook. There is, however, one issue that I would like to see fixed - I expected this to be done in Lightning, but my second-best guess would be this addon. When displaying an event that lasts for multiple days, I would like to see it running accross the days rather than repeating it for each day. Not sure if that can be done outside Lightning, but I would really hope so. Thanks!

A GREAT addition to the calendar view!

One question - is it possible to transfer the category colours set on one PC to another?

One wish - It would be great if you could tweak the "today" pane colour - the default is a little too subtle!

I just installed this add-on and it looks like a big improvement. Would be even better if you could choose the colors you want for the «Today date» and the «selected Day». Another improvement would be to write the name of the month in all squares (in month view), not only on the 1st and last day. Thanks for a great add-on.

THANK YOU for this. The standard color highlighting is so lacking.

Three requests / suggestions for your talents:

a. be able to right click on an event and set the category / coloring. It would eliminate so many keystrokes and actions if it could be incorporated into the context menu.

b. be able to mass assign category to multiple entries. Example: I search out "birthday" in the calendar list, returning all the birthdays. It would be great to select all, then click a menu button or right click and assign a single category to all of them!

c. be able to assign categories to meetings in which you are an attendee. At the moment you cannot assign a category to an event that you didn't create, but are only invited to. This seems like a silly limitation, since I want to categorize different events, sometimes by who the organizer is!

Keep up the good work!!!

Exactly what I wanted! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was seriously thinking to implement an add-on to have Lightning use the category color on the whole item... then found this, good job!

I've been looking for that for so long ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Must have add-on if you use Lightning. Works perfectly and contains all the features missing in lightning.
For example, I've been searching for so long to change the entire background of the events in link with the categories instead of that useless touch of color by default in lightning.
My prefered add on for TB. So usefull.

Thank you so much !

Default color Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on - Thanks!

I very much like the new feature for using
the category as background for the entire
event entry.
One suggestion:

Add another option which would use the
"Calendar" color as the background for
un-categorized events, instead of using
light grey for all calendars.

You are now using the Calendar color in a
little box at the right end of each entry,
but this makes the uncategorized entries
still mostly alike.

In my experience, my main calendar has all
the categories. For other calendars, such
as for holidays or shared appointments,
it is not so convenient to set the category,
so the calendar itself acts as the category.

With this option, those "super-categories"
would look just as distinctive as the assigned
categories.

BTW, it is just fine to indicate the calendar with
its color in a small indicator and I am not
suggesting changing that at all.

How does that sound?

Available in Version 4.3

This feature is available in Calendar Tweaks 4.3. When coloring event backgrounds by category, there is an option to use the calendar color as the event background color, if no category color is defined.

Works Fine for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been using a chrome .css file for many months now to get event boxes fully coloured like this add-on does, but each time I had to change/add/edit a category, it meant re-writing the .css file. This add-on now does it all for me. Brilliant !. I know there have been issues with un-categorised events, but as I categorise all my events, it wasn't an issue to me. I know it has a setting to alter shading on other months in month view, but is it possible to alter the background colour of the whole calendar ? I find the white background very harsh. A user-selectable background colour would make the whole calendar much more readable. Excellent add-on.

Be careful with this application, since the presets caused all of listings to disappear and instead put a small symbol where the information was. I have disabled everything and now I am back to normal. I want to see all my events shown in color on the calendar page, and this application disabled being able to do this. Not sure how I ever got this installed, but you never think that an app can do something like this.

Coloring-by-Category Improvements

With Calendar Tweaks 4.0, the options to "Apply category colors to event backgrounds" and to "Apply calendar event styling to event list" were both enabled by default on first installation.

With Calendar Tweaks 4.1, these two options are both disabled on first installation. However, if you previously installed Version 4.0, these two options will still be enabled in Version 4.1 unless you specifically disable them.

Calendar Tweaks 4.1 also includes some improvements to the "coloring-by-category" feature, which make it much more user-friendly:

• When coloring events by category, events now have small calendar color indicators.
• When coloring events by category, events without categories are now colored light grey.

I got White on White Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The latest update is giving me white text on white background (for items I have not put in any categories. For things that are categorized the display is okay.
Had to remove that option to get something readable.

Otherwise has been a great add on.

Fixed in Version 4.1

Calendar Tweaks 4.0 introduced a new option which allows coloring of event backgrounds using category colors, rather than calendar colors. However, for events that did not have a defined category color, the event background was not colored (transparent).

Version 4.1 of Calendar Tweaks fixes this problem, so that for events that do not have a defined category color, the event background is colored light grey and the text is colored black.

Thanks. This is a great add-on. Another useful feature would be that of indicating the current time of the day, by either highlighting the corresponding time slot, or putting a colored border between the two relevant time slots (like Google calendar does).

Thanks
