A very handy piece of software.

I no longer need to individually save thousands of emails. Once they are saved the email is an individual file on a drive, just the way I like it.

Doesn't work with 0.9 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Any chance of updating this for Sunbird 0.9 ?

Sehr gutes Add-On. Danke für die neue Version 0.31, die auch mit Sunbird 0.9 zusammenarbeitet.

Vorsicht! Auswählen mehrerer Kalender funktioniert nicht. Entweder ALLE anklicken oder nur einen auswählen. Dennoch: ein Spitzentool! Danke vielmals!

Seems great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great. Does what it says it does.
it really automatises the task of creating a backup of your calendar (and that is the kind of task I usually forget when I format my computer) Works perfectly, I suggest adding a button to the calendar in thunderbird to the end of establishing how often you want to create a backup (12 hours recommended).

Update now available Rated 5 out of 5 stars

There is an update for Automatic Export compatible with latest version at
http://www.sunbird-kalender.de/extension/autoexport/en/download.html
It is working for me, though there isn't a lot of instruction available. I give 5 stars so far...

Great! Please Update to Version 0.8 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a really useful add-on! I would appreciate if it would run with Sunbird 0.8.

This add-on is so useful (and not just a nice gimmick) that it should
be not an add-on, but be integrated in Sunbird itself!

Solution for 0.8 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Danilo, I've got this working under 0.8

If you have a .deb based system (like my Ubuntu) there is a .deb package with a tweaked version of Automatic Export included. It's at

http://www.linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&p=72855

Before you install this package, uninstall Automatic Export from your Addons, otherwise two extensions with the same version number will conflict. I also uninstalled my previous Sunbird, but this may not have been necessary.

For those on non-.deb systems, there is also a .tar.gz file available there, but I've not tried it and don't know if it contains the extension as well.

Hope this helps. Allbest
Roger

Es wäre ganz prima, wenn es diese Extension auch für die Sunbird-Version 0.8 gäbe. Ehrlich!

Automatic Export 0.2.4 supports Sunbird 0.8 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'd like to inform other users that a new version of Automatic Export (0.2.4), compatible with Sunbird 0.8, can be downloaded at http://www.sunbird-kalender.de/extension/autoexport/de/download.html.
The new version, however, contains a bug: the calendars to export cannot be selected from the Options window.
A work-around for this bug is to manually set the calendars to export in the configuration editor of Sunbird (ae.prefid.normal.exportCalendars.calendars or ae.prefid.backup.exportCalendars.calendars).

I guess this falls under the heading, "You never really appreciate something until it's gone," but I love this extension. I use it to keep my Sunbird calendar updated on my iPod. It's very simple and works very well. Unfortunately, 0.2.3 isn't compatible with the newer version of Sunbird. I hope the author will release an update to make it compatible.

Great... just needs... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great extension - much needed feature whenever dealing with important data, such as calendar information.
But it seems like, it will only backup calendars of default types, as my Google Calendar type calendar, is not backed up, not even it i explicitly add it to the list of calendars to backup. Now of course, the Google Calendar is per definition always backed up... at Google! But still, would be nice to have local backups as well!

But again - great extension!

Needs language support for regional letters Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent extension that would have scored a ten if it hadn't been for the lack of support for Swedish letters (Åå, Ää and Öö). I had to rename all my calendars for the extension to run properly. So, with extra language support, my seven will get three points added :)

Really great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works perfectly transferring Sunbird data .ics to Rainlendar. Even shows the medical symbol for my appointments on my desktop now. Way cool! Thanks very much. :-)

Exactly what I was looking for Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I use Rainlendar to visualize my calendar on desktop and this extension is just perfect to do that. It has both a timer and a manual button to export all my calendars at the same time. It could be only better if it would monitor the changes I make and export only the calendar I edit as soon as I change it - but that's just a tip, it deserves 9/10 the way it is anyway, as it is one of three most useful add-ons I always use!

Keep up the good work!

Terrific Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Downloaded it earlier today and seems to work great. Is extremely easy to setup and backups quick, you won't notice it working. There aren't any instructions to speak of but it is obvious how it works because it is so simple and logical.

Export check box Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The install of 0.2.2 could do with setting the appropriate value in the check box for export format.
If not, i'm gonna have to go round and change all the settings on every thunderbird machine :| . It's either that or getting the users to do it ;) .
