Patch for installation up to TB-version 99 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I patched the install.rdf-file of version so that it is possible to install attachment extractor to a Thunderbird up to version 99 without version-error. Tested with TB 38.0.1, but no warranty for functionality. Available on my homepage under "Anleitungen - Email - Thunderbird Add-Ons".

Extrae y renombra adjuntos con mismo nombre Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very good add-on - but how do "Suggested File-Folders" work? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very good add-on, version with patched version number range still working in TB 31.6.0 :) (used with local mail folders only so fare).

I don't want full automatic extraction, but think that "Suggested File-Folders" ("Ordnervorschläge" in German TB) could be useful - but I could not figure out how to use this. I defined 2 folders there (one for pictures one for other documents), but never saw one of these as suggestion. I always must navigate to the desired destination folder after "Extract to Suggested File-Folders" :(.

This saved me lots of work. Thank you. It would be nice to have an updated version if you have the time. Thanks again for your work on this

Very Good Job! Exactly what I was looking for!
Could you please update / maintain it to work with the actual and upcoming versions of TB?

An addon I'm not sure I could live without anymore! Specially when I have a horrible tendency to 'horde' messages with attachments until they pile up ridiculously.

The only 'change' in this tool that I'd like to see, is perhaps the ability to have the attachments from each message to save in a separate folder within the selected folder. (IE, if I create folder for all the attachments, then each message's attachments are in a separate folder inside that. . .) just to make sorting/dealing with the attachments from there a little easier instead of ending up with a huge jumble to sort through. But yeah, this addon is one tool that makes it impossible for me to stop using Thunderbird. ;)

*Edit* Ah!! With that file separator, its perfect! No need to let my stuff pile up until I have time to deal with them separately now. Thank you so much! Loving it. :D

just add a folder separator in the pattern

Great add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I jsut used it and it saved me lots of time.
>300 mails in <2 min all attachments to a dedicated folder of my choice. Just GREAT !!!

We should ask our self why is this add-on is not getting continued for future TB versions.
Is it because TB will implement this feature already in its next release as standard feature ? or is it of missing support for the developers from the users ?
We users of this add-on just download and dont pay a cent BUT then complain if something is not working to the great developer of this timesaving add-on?

Who of us users works for free ?

Walk the talk dear users !
Maeby we can bring the developer of this add-on to reconsider.

Abandoned add-on Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I e-mailed the author of this add-on, and he says he will not be releasing any more versions.

The add-on is OK, but has it's problems (like not working for IMAP).

Works Well - Life Saver Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Little confusing, but has just saved me nearly half a day's work, in seconds. Best TBird add-on ever!!

Great little helper!

Used it seconds ago to extract attachments of over 50 emails within one single process. Very good time saver!

Functional and works Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This appears to be the only plugin for managing multiple attachments that works with modern Thunderbird versions (Attachment Manager stopped at v3).
I got it strictly to delete attachments from multiple messages; it did the job fine, I just wish there was a way to disable getting prompted for every single message (kind of defeats the purpose).

Works nicely on TBird 24 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Woooh, it _does_ delete the attachments, letting the (text) messages intacts or if I want, removing them (with optional backup of the messages in html format). This is configured in the third tab in Preferences "After extraction". Note: One has to tell the extension where to save the attachments for it to work ;)
Now I can save a great deal of room (and speed in TBird most probably) by deleting aaaaall these attachments from hundred of messages :-) A big thank to Andrew Williamson!

Fonctionne sous TBird 24 / Linux. J'ai juste
- Configuré le dossier où poser les P.J. dans les préférences
- sélectionné quelques emails avec P.J. > Clic droit et > Extraire des messages sélectionnés.

To delete multiple Attachments at once:
Select a message in the message-list pane, go to Message->Attachments and choose one of the detach/delete options.
Works for TBird 24 on Windows 7.

Abandoned and non-functional Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This add-on is abandoned and no longer works with the latest version of Thunderbird.

Once handy- now abandonware. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Not long ago this one was pretty useful but it hasn't been updated since 2011 and it probably never will be again.

Ever since the suicidal rabid-release began developers are dropping like flies. The whole TB catalog is dying and if someone got rid of the abandonware we would see just how small the catalog really is.

Great extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A huge timesaver for the occasional times when people send you lots of photos in email.

NOTE: counter-intuitive that it doesn't save inline images by default, but at least there's a preference option for it. Maybe a warning would be useful.

Useful Add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Quite a useful utility, particularly the ability to run a program after extraction. I used this to run a batch file to convert PDF attachments to TXT files.

Works well Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Seems to work as described. Very handy. Would like to see this function automatically like a filter.
I use this to save attached PDF invoices to a MyDocs folder
