It works for me. Unfortunately it still inserts the 2 dashes even though it is disabled in the config. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
Finally get it work properly Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This the way how I made it work:
1. go to the account settings
2. edit the signature text and put the HTML line break tag
at the end of each line
3. check the "Use HTML" box
4. check the "attach a signature from a file instead" box
The above setting is odd but it works. I bet that you will enjoy it like I do.
Nice, but doesn't work with signatures from file Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Would be a very useful extension to TB, but unfortunatelly, nothing is inserted, when the signature setting uses a signature from a file. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
Poor Instructions Rated 1 out of 5 stars
The add on works great. Just there no instructions on how to create the signature. Would have been nice as writing code/html/etc is out of my league. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
Insert on separate lines? Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Without using this app, if I don't check the html box, my signature appears on separate lines as written. If I check the html box, it all appear on one line. When using the app, however, if I leave the html box unchecked, and then check the box to insert a signature from a file (so the signature doesn't automatically appear), the signature appears on one line when I use the context menu to insert it. So it acts like html even though the html box isn't checked. Is there a way to make it appear on separate lines? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).

Great Job. Many thanks. Just what we need. Should be part of Thunderbird client. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
Nice work! Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Simple, useful and nice add-on. But I have a problem with HTML mails using plain text signature.
I have added a few lines of code to your add-on to prevent that problem, and I will give you those lines with pleasure. Are you interested?
Yes I am interested, please :-)

Macht genau das, was es soll. DANKE! :DThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
Supporting file-signature would be great Rated 2 out of 5 stars
The add-on works only with signatures defined in the signature field of your account, which is too bad.
I managed to override the problem by copying the content of my file-sig in the thunderbird-integrated signature field, but that's not a pretty solution IMHO.
Please, add file-sig support, that'd be great.
You can't use a file-signature! If you add your signature into the signature-field it will work...
sehr nützlich Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Nice Rated 4 out of 5 stars
It does everything I need it to do. I like the fact that I can add the signature where my cursor is positioned. It would be really nice to be able to select different signatures, too. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).

Nice add on! It is useful if you use Thunderbird. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).

In general a great idea, since this feature is not available by default in Thunderbird - wonder why! However, it doesn't seem to work as expected in the following situations.
a) When I reply to an email the plug-in does not add the signature, even though I have the settings configured per instructions.
b) If you manage multiple accounts, and let's say you are in account A, click compose new email, realize you want to send from account B, change it in the compose window; the add signature no longer inserts the signature.
I will say that I searched high-and-low for a way to get rid of the "--" that is inserted by default by Thunderbird. I found a solution and implemented it and I am wondering if that has something to do with my issues. Any thoughts/ideas are welcome.
If you use more than one account please use signature switch instead!!!
Please do not remove the "-- \n" at the beginning of the signature, it is truly usefull! :-)
Editing end! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
That's it!!! I tried to use the html code you suggested <br> and after ticking the html format box at the top of the signature box, it works just fine now. Thank you for your add on and for your time and good advice. Unlike soem of the reviewers, I think it's a great feature to be able to decide when you want your signature to be inserted or not. Cheers,
Perfect! Thank you for using add-signature :-)
I think this feature should be a default of thunderbird.

I second Kjell's question: Where does one associate the HTML signature line text with the right-click command? Thanks for trying to simulate Signature Switch: that seems such a basic email command that I can't fathom why Version 7 disabled it...This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
very simple Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Just one signature? Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Beyond the ability to add a signature when you normally don't use one, this add-on is of little utility. What would be VERY helpful is the ability to CHOOSE from among several different "signatures" that can be inserted.
Another add-on called "Signature Switcher" does this, but is not compatible with 7.0+.
(PS to author: I'm not blaming you for another add-on's incompatibility. Just pointing out your add-on isn't as good.)
sorry, but don't blame me for the compatibility of "signature switch"! :-)
Seems good but... Rated 3 out of 5 stars
....how do I create the signature? Cant find anywhere to do that. ( I am brand new to Thunderbird as you probably understand. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
so simple NOT Rated 1 out of 5 stars
how about a simple signature, different fonts, colors, sizes with no required -- as is now the case with thunderbird. seems so easy yet they cannot do it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
