After customizing the positioning of elements on TAB, I find the positioning is lost if I open a second FF window (lost for the new window only); don't know whether this is a TAB or FF issue. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.1-signed). Am glad to have this. Thank you. Could you please either remove the close button, or make it optional. I don't need to see the X, and I still have the traditional way of turning off a toolbar.
Edit of 4/7/2014: Thanks; I can now remove the X.
I installed this for the first time today. I have a (removable) icon on the Add-on Bar, and the configurable hotkey works fine. But I don't have any entry in the context menu if I select text or mouse-over a link. Help please. These features (particularly select text) are critical for me. This extension is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, FF 26.0b1 breaks it (and it now reports 0MB memory usage). Help, please! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.11.1-signed). This user has 3 previous reviews of this add-on.
Appears to have been broken by FF 16.0b1 (because something else has been assigned to the CTRL+SHFT+L hotkey). I edited the file to change the hotkey to "CTRL+SHFT+:" and it works fine again. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.6.1-signed).
I love this extension. Unfortunately, it has ceased to work in FF 10 (both Beta 1 and Beta 2). I first noticed this when trying to create "é" (I ended up with an "e", but no accent); I then tried a number of combinations, and none work. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.8.1-signed).
On November 28, 2011, I wrote a review, and requested 2 features (the ability to change the background color of the notes, and the ability to remove the icons from the status bar). I have now learned that both are already part of the program. Sweet!
The reason I didn't find these pre-existing options was that I was looking for an "Options" radio button in the FF Add-ons Manager, and there isn't one for QuickFox Notes (only "Disable" and "Remove"). I therefore didn't realize that there are options (and I only found the options when I looked at the JPEG provided by smed79). My first reaction was "how did I miss that?", until I realized that the options are accessed in such an unconventional way.
I respectfully suggest that the QFN options menu be accessible in the same manner as the options for virtually all other FF extensions.
I would like the option to be able to set my own background color (other than "Post-It" yellow).
More importantly, I would like to be able to remove the icons ("T" and "B") from the Add-On bar. I don't want them there. An icon on the Navigation Toolbar is more than enough.
@smed79 ... you can disable/edit/rearrange the context menu entries by using the extension "Menu Editor"
I just installed this on FF 7.0b1, and the display on the Action Bar reports "NaNMb" (where NaN presumably stands for "not a number"), and when I mouse over it, the tooltip displays "Normal Firefox Memory Usage." Is this what is intended? If so, it isn't helpful. I need hard numbers. I also tried installing it on the Toolbar, and there it displays a green "sand dollar", with the same message upon mouseover. Help please. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Worked great in FF 5.0, but it doesn't work in FF 6.0b1 (it always shows the FF memory as "0Mb"). I look forward to an update. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1-signed).
trlkly is correct; when the button is activated, it closes the Add-on bar (I have at least 3 other widgets on the bar, and it is still closed).
The notification is not properly sized to the bar (at least not to my bar) ... it is too large. It would be nice to have a whitelist of URLs for which duplication is allowed.
It's simple; it works. I'm so glad you took on this project! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.1-signed).
This is in response to your comment about not wanting to create an "alternate interaction" (in response to my request for right mouse support)
Today, I needed to update the bookmark for http://sundaystreetssf.com/ with http://www.sundaystreetssf.com/ (FWIW, my bookmark is titled "Sunday Streets San Francisco"). Replace Bookmark reported "No related bookmarks found." The bookmark was there, of course! THIS is why I suggested adding the right mouse functionality from Update Bookmark. Over half the time that I try to use Replace Bookmark, I receive a "No related bookmarks found" and am forced to do a manual edit. It is no different than not having the extension at all. With the proposed "alternate interaction", your addon would be functional 100% of the time. Mo' betta IMO! :-)
This unfortunately works only if the GMail Labs "Hide Unread Counts" is *not* enabled. While this might seem obvious, even with "Hide Unread Counts" enabled, the number of unread messages in the Inbox will *still* display on the Title Bar (even though it no longer displays in the GMail sidebar). Since the data is obviously still available, the issue becomes where the addon is obtaining its data. I hope this can be fixed. Great idea. If it worked with "Hide Unread Counts" enabled, I would give it 5 stars. I give it 3 stars for concept.
Nice extension. I would like a bookmark context menu item, so that if I "right mouse" on a bookmark, one of the options is "Replace Bookmark with current URL" (which would substitute the current URL for the URL in the bookmark). Compare "Update Bookmark" (which hasn't been updated since 2008).This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1-signed).
YouTube changed it's interface today, and apparently broke TubeStop. Help, please! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.7).
Great extension! Is is possible to (significantly) increase the accepted length of the search string? I often want to send a paragraph (or 2) to Google Translate, and it appears that the selected amount is being truncated by the code of the extension.
