It would be great if you could select subcategories, rather than just the top level categories. For instance, I'd like to be able to search just in "Film Photography", as the only category available (Photography) brings up too many irrelevant results. As the category structure differs from site to site, perhaps you could offer an option to enter the specific code for a specific category (e.g. Film Photography on the UK site is #69323). Do you think this would be an easy feature to implement?
Otherwise, an excellent little tool. Many Thanks.
Nice, but this redux version has a major flaw. When opening a new tab, say from a bookmark or the searchbar, the history from the tab to its immediate left is loaded into it, when it should have no history at all. The old version didn't have this problem. I'm using ff5.0.1, windows xp and tabmix plus. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).
Marvellous add-on, I find it very useful. However, I have encountered the same problem as creib. Sometimes a tab becomes disabled, by which I mean that clicking on it doesn't focus the tab and it refuses to close. I've disabled image tweak for now, waiting eagerly for an update that hopefully fixes this annoying bug. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.22).
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "purge". Am I right in saying that it removes all traces of deleted emails in the actual data files?
Firstly, thanks for replying to my question. Not all extension developers are so dedicated.
"That's the way Context Search behaves without Organize Search Engines."
This is not strictly true. The Context Search page states that:
"- Left click to search in a new background tab.
- Middle click to search in a new tab and switch to that tab immediately.
- Ctrl+click to search in a new tab and switch to that tab immediately.
If you have Firefox set to switch to new tabs immediately, the above key combinations will have the INVERSE EFFECT (my emphasis)."
The last paragraph is what is relevant here. I do indeed have Firefox set to focus on new tabs, which inverses CS's settings. With CS enabled and OSE disabled, the new tab is focussed. However, with OSE enabled it is not. Conclusion: OSE is still interfering with CS's settings (at least, only when CS's inverse rules are applied). Is this correct or not? Many thanks.
From v1.6 release notes: "fixed tab focus with the Context Search extension".
What exactly has been fixed here? Since installing 1.6, whenever I use context search, the focus stays with the current tab, rather than the newly opened tab as I prefer it to. Is there an option in about:config or some other way to change this? Thanks.
Excellent theme, but is not fully compatible with the following add-ons
All-In-One Sidebar - Extensions tab appearance corrupted and missing sort button
AnyColor - Search bar shape is corrupted (elliptical shaped box overlaid on top of square one
Status bar buttons could also do with better spacing. Otherwise, I would give this 5*
Hello, I write to you regarding your firefox add-on Context Search. I have been using this extension for quite a while now, and I find it to be a very convenient tool. There are though, a couple of things I have found in my experience of this add-on that I'd like to share with you.
Firstly, there is a slight conflict with the 'Organize Search Engines' extension http://tinyurl.com/yt9w5a . The problem is that when I click the middle mouse button on a context search query, which should give focus to the new tab, nothing happens.
I have also found a conflict with the add-on 'MultiSearch' http://tinyurl.com/nykjmy . I find that when I do the same operation as mentioned before, two tabs are opened - one with the search query results, and another which loads the base URL of the search engine.
Lastly, I have a suggestion for a small improvement to the functionality of Context Search. I would like to have the option of changing the behaviour of the left and middle mouse clicks, as I find it more intuitive that the left button should give focus to the new tab rather than the middle click. The middle button could alternatively open the search in a background tab.
Whether or not you decide to make these specific changes, I sincerely hope that you continue to develop this great add-on.
Bug report: When I try to install another xpi add-on while Bookstack and Tab Mix Plus are both enabled, two install prompt windows open sequentially rather than one, the second appearing after the first one closes.

Congrats to you for making the best tag add-on yet. I find The sidebar interface to be well designed and intuitive, while the migration tool is very handy for tagging each bookmark by its folder name. The latter is quite frankly a godsend as I already have quite a large and well defined folder structure, so tagging by folder name only (especially recursively) is all that I need. I hope to see this add-on continue to develop, and with that in mind I would like to make some feature requests if I may. :)
Ability to delete all or multiple tags in one batch. I regularly restructure my folder hierarchy and rename folders. Having over a thousand folders (and therefore as many tags) nested within only eight top-level folders, I find that unless I edit the tags of all affected bookmarks on the fly, I soon end up with multiple redundant tags, thereby diminishing the effectiveness of the tagging system. Sometimes the obvious solution is to delete all the tags in one nest of folders and start again - using the excellent migration tool ofcourse. This would be so much easier to do if I could select more than one tag at a time for deletion. A 'select all' option in context menu and ability to block-highlight with shift or ctrl would do nicely.
Option to remove Tagsifter folder from bookmarks menu. When running the cursor down the bookmarks folder, it will open the Tagsifter folder as it passes. If the folder has many tags firefox will hang for a few seconds until the folder opens.
This is perhaps beyond the remit of this add-on, but it would be wonderful if there were an option to automatically tag new bookmarks with the name of its containing folder. If it's possible to do this recursively (i.e. tags from all levels of folders above it as well), that would be too good.
So, do you think any of these features have a chance?
Thanks for your time!
Does its job well, though I have the same problem as Craig Lillie whereby the options window doesn't render correctly. I have to manually resize the window every time as the right side of the pane is clipped by an inch, which obscures the Advanced tab button. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1).
