My Reviews

QuickNote

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use this add-on daily, but like some other users, I find some of the changes make it less usable, so I've reverted to version 0.6.0.6 because it suits my purposes. I'm still giving it 5-stars because it has served me so well for several years.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.0.8).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Good add-on that I find that I use often since installing. Something that would enhance functionality for me is if it was possible to make a space rather that a line return between items when several are selected. This would make it easier to just paste the result into a "wget . . ." command.

I like this add on a lot and use it fairly regularly.
It is unobtrusive and very functional.
I just wanted to know, is there some way to add more than four tabs?
What part of the code would one look at to do this?

Duplicate Tab

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

To get extension to work in Firefox 3.5, see forum post by mikedepetris (dated July 10th, 2009) at: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=83785&start=165

Duplicate Tab

clean, simple, straightforward Rated 5 out of 5 stars

(referring to previous comment by T. H. on September 4, 2009) Tab Mix Plus is heavy and clunky compared to this light, straight-forward extension. I tried it and it kind of does the same thing as this (with a lot of tweaking), but it "adds" all sorts of "features" that I don't want/need, and it alters the appearance of tabs (i.e. favicon on iconised tabs are no longer centred).
I really hope Duplicate Tab will be updated to make it compatible with ver 3.5 and up.

Duplicate Tab

please upgrade for Firefox 3.5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Judging from the comments I'm not alone in really missing "Duplicate Tab" since upgrading to 3.5 . . .

Ctrl-Tab

Quite good and functional.
I would prefer an option to choose whether to have thumbnails (as now) or icons. This would make the extension more functional with more than 7 or 8 tabs.

Stack Style Tabs

this is a goood one . . . Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I hope that this gets updated for ff3.5
It is small and useful - many of the other extensions of this type rely on a lot of graphics and thumbnails and so are less useful when more than more that 7 or 8 tabs are open

just to echo the comments from others who are running ff3.5 and found that this great extension no longer works there.
Really looking forward to future compatibility.

Brief

This is very good. Thanks to developers.
The only change I would suggest is to let the button at the top near address behave like the "home" button - mid-click = new tab; left-click = open in present tab.
Also, since the status bar button (bottom) already behaves like that, an option to not have the top button should be provided.

I have gone to Firefox 3 and this is the extension that I miss the most - are you considering making a FF3 compatible version?

RightHome

I've been using this for several weeks now, and I find that I miss it when I'm at another computer.
This is a good use of what is really a "residual" piece of the browser interface. I almost never used the home button before this extension.
A great piece of recycling in our environmentally conscious time :)

keywordManager

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is quite useful once it is set up, but unfortunately unless you've ensured that keywords are present on the bookmarks when you enter them, the usefulness of this tool becomes limited.
I would suggest the use of the extension "OpenBook" to add to the usefulness of this extension. This still isn't enough though - a way of adding keywords to existing bookmarks other than each one individually, one-by-one is necessary.

synopse,

a great idea Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a a really great idea for re-understanding our relation with information. It is similar to the idea of "labels" in gmail.
The information can be tagged, shared and and retrieved without the constraints of organising bookmarks, folders and desktops.
I hope that a few new features are added to enhance search and tagging, but this is a concept that will develop, I'm sure.
