Up & down & down & up &... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have written a zillion reviews of Xmarks- almost all being either 5* or 1* as it's performance over the years lurched between beautiful and total failure and back and forth...

The best observations that I can offer are that recently it works well 99+% of the time on Palemoon with even a very large number of bookmarks. Sometimes the synch can be slow and in rare cases it causes an outright hang. Most of the time when the hang occurs it is when one shuts the computer off and it has been set to synch on browser close. In some rare cases that will prevent your system from shutting down.

Naturally the number of bookmarks and the quality of your connection are going to be factors in this beyond Xmarks control.

Then I went and tested it on stinky old Failfox. I should note that I only keep all of the major browsers on some computers for testing and comparison purposes. On the testing computer I had FF22 and I have utterly zero interest in any of their rabid release stupidity. If they are up to some other inflated version by now I would not care one bit.

When I tested Xmarks it utterly failed when done through the Xmarks page. I tried it repeatedly, restarted FF... and nothing worked. The bookmarks simply would not take.

Then I tried it using the setup wizard and it worked flawlessly. That may be a workaround for all of the folks having issues with it.

A better solution is to dump Failfox forever and to run Palemoon. The more you are tied to Mozilla the more misery you will endure.

If you want to LOVE your browser run Palemoon!

Massive problems from a once great add-on! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

For years I loved and promoted X-marks but now it is having massive login issues. Initially it gives a broken error window that requires hitting "Esc" to get out of or FF locks up. Then it requires 4-6 attempts before it can log in- and that is using LastPass! Shouldn't that of all add-ons log it in since that is what it does and Xmarks was taken over by LastPass? For a while I thought it was my computer because it was having issues and I did end up switching out some hardware. I then noticed the problem on 2 other computers. I spoke to other users and they all thought that it was just them too. Also, the synchs are not always working correctly. and sometimes it takes multiple synchs to get all of the favorites! For those of us with big lists this is simply not acceptable to get most of them most of the time. It needs to be all of them all of the time! Heads should roll over this fiasco and someone at the company who cares should put their foot up people's asses until it works PERFECTLY!

I love it and I have used it sucessfully but in some ways it is really pissing me off! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have used it to successfully synch two computers and transfer entire lists between them so that should be worth a 5 star rating. I put it in my collection and I have promoted the daylights out of it- but for both myself and other users some problems really are getting on our nerves. It continually refuses to recognize our passwords and if I have to change it one more time I am freaking going to throw something! Also many of us found the privacy policy to be very disturbing. This really should be a true 5 star product so please straighten it up and make it what it truly should be. Thank you.

A lifesaver! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For anyone juggling multiple computers or transferring over large bookmark lists it is beyond belief being able to do that with just one click! Also you could log onto any computer and with this bring up YOUR list- and have it go away- or not when you are done! WTG! I put it in my "Apollo! Pack!" collection and I am recommending it!
