Good Addon, Except Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good addon except it causes the bar at the bottom left of the window, that gives the url of link that is hovered over, to be dark with no text or text the same color as the bar. Kubuntu 13.10, FF 28.0.

Breaks "closing" tabs (actually are not closed) :( Rated 2 out of 5 stars

FF 29 beta 1, 2, 3

After closing tab it still resist in memory and active. For example, youtube continues to play (I hear sound).

If I disable VerticalTabs - everything ok. So it's not Flash issue.

Extremely helpful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Vertical tabs save space on wide displays and let one see more tabs. Thanks for update for Australis theme! Left sides of my tabs ('Tabs at right') look a little dirty, but retain usability.

No pinned tabs.

Works, ultra basic, no options. Move/rearrange tabs works. Moved my "Firefox" menu button (shows up when menu bar's hidden) to bottom of screen instead of top. No easy way to move tab list to right side.

Works quite well but has annoying bugs:
(1) doesn't honour either way of hiding the close button on inactive tags (setting browser.tabs.tabClipWidth to a huge value or setting browser.tabs.closeButtons to 0)
(2) doesn't honour background colour on unused area below tabs.

Notwithstanding others' comments, I *can* rearrange my tabs. This is with FF27.0.1 on Win XP SP3; ymmv.

Yes, it gives you vertical tabs. But it doesn't follow theme coloring, the tabs look really bad in ff29 and you can't rearrange your tabs by dragging and dropping.

Tab focus broken - maybe conflict with another add on? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I'm addicted to vertical tabs, and have used it for a few years now I think. But a few weeks ago finally let firefox update from 14.x to 26.x. Suddenly vertical tabs quit automatically moving to the focused tab (e.g, the one displayed in your window).

I uninstalled firefox entirely (kept profile, add ons etc.) and reinstalled FF 27 - and it still won't automatically move the vertical tab display to the loaded tab. I uninstalled vertical tabs, and confirmed that regular horizontal tabs ARE properly moving to the focused tab... reinstalled vertical tabs, and again it won't shift the sidebar to the focused tab.

I do have a number of other add ons, and one or more may be conflicting with vertical tabs. I suppose I'll have to try disabling them one at a time to see if that makes a difference, but what a pain - especially if it turns out that one is interfering and it's one ones I like and use a lot.

This didn't happen with my older version of firefox however, even though I had the exact same add ons, so I think it must have something to do with differences between the older version of firefox and the newer versions.

I gave VT a rating of 3 because of this problem -- otherwise I would have easily given it a 5.

Okay, but what with pinned tabs? I do not see them when scrolling the mouse has to turn the scrollbar.
Pinned tabs should be always on your mind - this is their purpose, why do you hide them when scrolling tabs?
And where "add tab" buton?

I love the idea of vetical tabs and used to use sidetabs a lot (although I feel like it was buggy). Vertical tabs seems like the next rev. I'm a fan even though I find the re-ordering of tabs a little awkward (it's hard to place a tab just where you want it - try it you'll see.)

Nevertheless, as a person who has 12+ tabs open all the time I think it's much better to have vert. tabs. Thanks much!

Some good, some not so good Rated 3 out of 5 stars

For those of us wishing side tabs were a basic feature of FF, we need to be grateful to the developers of Vertical Tabs and Side Tabs. However, neither of those extensions maintains full functionality or is free from basic-usability-threshold bugs.

Side Tabs is well-designed from a UI perspective, but installing the extension breaks drag and drop tab reorder. Thankfully this essential feature works well in the Vertical Tabs extension.

Unfortunately, it has a lot of other problems. Try pinning a tab. It's there, but it's invisible and unreachable. Colors and font rendering are poor. The scroll bar blocks tab close buttons. Tab width is not adjustable.

Having said that, I'd love to join others in paying for critical extensions like this if they were actively-maintained and high-quality.

A few bugs in recent nightly (with australis):
Showing app tabs buggy (all app tabs mixed in 1 icon place floating above other tabs)
Visual bug (caused by new UI style)
Disable doesn't work - when you disable this add-on, it does nothing until you restart FF

Nice addon.. Very fast. An autohide option would be cool.
(It has a little bug with tab height/resizing but other than works as described).
