Wonderful feature, works when Mozilla says! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Apparently, updated Firefox (currently 40.0.3) disallow something that this add-on needs. So it's up to Mozilla now to update their policy.

I've downgraded Firefox to allow "toggle cookie" to work because i think this is more important that any security update!

Please Vote for API to Fix Broken Add-On(s) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a very useful and simple add-on that I used often. I contacted the Dev to find out why it doesn't work and whether it can be fixed. This was his (Mardeg's) reply:

"I stopped maintaining the extension because upcoming APIs won't allow privileged code in it to work. Vote for:

if you want Mozilla to make it possible"

So there you go, users...go vote on this issue as it affects many add-ons dealing with cookies, which Dev says will "eventually stop working too unless they switch to the upcoming API."

I know there are many who would like this functionality...please vote and comment to change this issue. Thanks!

As "Outward" already pointed out - Updating Firefox past version 39.0.3, will break the Toggle Cookies add-on.
(If already updated to FF version 40+, undo by reverting to 39.0.3)

Disappeared from Menu Bar Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't like the idea of being tracked without my knowledge or permission so use Toggle Cookies to turn off cookies when not needed. It is by far one of the best add-ons someone could have. That being said, all of a sudden it has disappeared from the menu bar. I have removed it and reinstalled it, but it still doesn't show up. I suspect Firefox has struck again and messed with add-ons by way of an update. Very irritating, to say the least. I hope this problem will be fixed soon.

Suddenly stopped showing icon in the menu bar. I think this happened just after updating to Firefox v40.02. Hope that helps. :)

Great, until it stopped working... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've been happily using this add-on for years but it's suddenly stopped working. It was fine yesterday but now the icon has disappeared and there’s no sign of it anywhere when I press the Firefox ‘customise’ button. Very useful tool though, assuming this problem can be fixed.

Hi there. Thank you for the simplicity of this addon. If it is not asking too much, how about making the firefox cookie whitelist (exceptions) appear when the icon is clicked on? Cheers.

Nice and easy to use. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really like this add-on. It's simple and easy to use. Thanks for your work :]

Update: with version 0.7.4 everything works fine again, thanks for such quick response :]

There is a bug on Firefox 22 and Toggle Cookies 0.7.3 that makes button icon invisible in Private Browsing Mode.
On the previous version 0.6.0 you can see button but it doesn't work, now it's completely gone. Thanks again for great add-on.

Fixed in version 0.7.4

I initially didn't think it mattered in private browsing what the prefs were because it never saves cookies, but then decided if the users want it, they get it!
You can get 0.7.4 now while it awaits review from the "View all versions" link at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/toggle-cookies/versions/

I like this, its very useful..... BUT....

I keep dragging it out of the Add-On bar, and when I re-open the browser, it goes back to the bottom...

I do not like anything on the add-on bar, it's an unnecessary bar, most people don't like all these toolbars... please get it to where it stays where its moved...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.1-signed.1-signed).

Agreed..... BUT....

I've never had it in the add-on bar, as I also don't have that bar visible. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=586029 for why I have no say in where the icon is put, otherwise I wouldn't put it there.
I moved it to the Titlebar for myself, as you can see in the screenshot I uploaded for it, and it stays there for me across restarts.

The moveability of the icon is totally dependent on the underlying add-on kit which this add-on uses, so please file a bug with the maintainers of it at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Add-on%20SDK

There is hope in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=695913 for having icons in the navigation bar, and if by process of elimination you discover another extension triggers this bug, we can inform that extension's author.
I'm sorry about the formatting of this reply, the form doesn't allow clickable links, and thanks for the review, I appreciate it :)
