++ Important: please read carefully our Privacy Statement before installing the addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/showip/privacy/
++ Note for 1.5: Security updates where done like and https was added.
++ Note for people with 1.4 and later installed: The Plugin gets data like ISP and Country from an external API. If you are not interested in that information you can deactivate it in the settings! It is recommended until an https update and some other changes are done.
++ The version you can download here is 1.0 which is an old one without getting and/or showing the webserver´s ISP and country.
Firefox 4 users, please find an updated version here:http://firefox-showip.googlecode.com/files/showip_1rc3.xpi
Show the IP address(es) of the current page in the status bar. It also allows querying custom services by IP (right mouse button) and hostname (left mouse button), like whois, netcraft. Additionally you can copy the IP address to the clipboard. This extension was formerly known as ipv6ident.
If only the domain name is shown and not the IP address, check the setting of the network.proxy.socks_remote_dns preference. It has to be turned off for proper operation. Alternatively you can try the version available at http://firefox-showip.googlecode.com
where a switch in the preferences dialog has been added to force ShowIP to do DNS look-ups.
In Firefox 4 you've to enable the addon-bar to see the information.
