I concur with many comments. This is a vital add-on for me and I will not be moving to Firefox 57 until a version of ScrapBook or ScrapBook Plus works with it.
I tried Scrapbook X but it is too slow and apparently even that does not allow an easy migration to the supposed replacement WebScrapbook

Update to Firefox Quantum Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Leider ist ab Firefox Quantum das geliebte ScrapBook nicht mehr vorhanden. Wie komme ich nun wieder an meine gespeicherten Seiten ???

Hi, to all Scrapbook fans who are disappointed not finding their entries after starting Quantum. I had the similar problem and I found following workaroud:
- For Quantum I use the Win 64 version and use it for current and future purpose
- In addition I installed the 32 bit version of Firefox 56.0 and disabled immediately the auto update function (see settings - best set it to "ask me for update" already in Quantum before installing 56.0)
- I use the 32 bit version so I am able to use both version concurrently (not at the same time but alternatively)
- After starting the 56.0 all my Scrapbook entries have been visible as before NOTHING was lost
- I am using Scrapbook 1.5.14
- Scrapbook 1.5.14 can create an index HTML file of all your entries. This feature does not recreate anything it just adds a new HTML file with an index to all your scrapbook entries. I have used the option "create index in iframe" (or similiar) and start HTML after creation.
-If you have done that a list with all the folders and entries of your scrapbook will apear in the browser window. Create a bookmark for this list
-Start Quantum again and load that bookmark. and save it in Quantum if not done yet.
- Now you can use your "old" entries in Quantum BUT you cannot alter it anymore.
- To alter your Scrapbook you have to do it using Foirefox 56.0 or below and create the HTML Index again.

I use this approach to keep my old entries and for all future "scraps" I try to find another Scrapbook extension which comes close to this fabolous old one and supports the new firefox engine.

Best would be if the owner of Scrapbook or somebody else is creating a "new scrapbook" which at least is backward compatible with the "old Scrapbook data format"

English is not my first language therefore there might be some errors but I hope I could help you !

Regards from Germany

A temporary solution to read your Scrapbook (until March 2018) :

Download and install SeaMonkey :

https://www.seamonkey-project.org

Copy the "Scrapbook" folder you can find in your Firefox profile folder

See this page to find your profile folder :

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

Put it for example here : D://MyFiles/Scrapbook

Open SeaMonkey

Go to this URL with SeaMonkey :

http://addonconverter.fotokraina.com/?url=https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/scrapbook/

Install Scrapbook !

In parameter change settings to tell Scrapbook point to D://MyFiles/Scrapbook

Et voilà !

To Keep open the Sidebar (the scrapbook button doesn't work in SeaMonkey) :

In SeaMonkey open about:config

Set browser.search.opensidebarsearchpanel to TRUE

Why March 2018, because it's the end of Firefox ESR compatible with legacy plugin. And SeaMonkey is based on Firefox ESR.

So we have to find out a better way to make a static browsable archive in the long term.

One possible solution I see :

In the data folder, you can read locally a "scrapbook website" by opening in each subfolder a file named index.html.

So, in order to create this browsable archive we need to transform the file "scrapbook.rdf" (xml containing all the scrapbook ref) into a static html file with all the links to each "folder/index.html".

I'm not that good with parsing and converting xml.

If someone reading this can take the time to write a tool on github for the community to do this conversion rdf->html.
For now I only found one project on github that doesn't work anymore (cgi...) :

https://github.com/ericblue/Scrapbook-Browser

I've been using Scrapbook since 2005...
Thanks again Gomita for this tool, I used it to backup so many pages that have disappeared since.
Once again, the archives made by the 95 629 users of this addon is at risk of being lost...

Some alternative : https://alternativeto.net/software/scrapbook/

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/web-scrapbook/ (not compatible with old Scrapbook data)
https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/save-page-we/

Please, please can Firefox and whoever developed the Scrapbook add-on work
'together' to maintain compatibility. Quantum upgrade is useless for me without
Scrapbook. For now i will stick with older versions of Firefox but have a feeling
that Firefox may be heading in the wrong direction

je n'apprécie plus puisqu'elle n'est pas compatible avec Firefox Quantom. Très dommage.
