Я всегда хотел сменить страницу при создании новой вкладки, и благодаря этому расширению это наконец получилось! Работает отлично, пока что проблем не было

It does override new tab and it has several options to choose from so that's ok. My issue is with how the extension handle the process itself. For example, I just want it to change the page color of the new tab. That's it - a blank page with a color of my choosing.

Why does an extension have to cover the whole search bar in order to do the simple task like that?

And then i have to click several times in order to select the garbage text in the address bar, because (clicking once does nothing) and i have to do this every single time i open a new tab. It's infuriating.
I've put up with this annoyingly bad design for months because i was lazy to look for another solution, but I've had it. I mean just look at this monstrosity:

Don't know if that's bad design on the Firefox side and there is nothing dev can do, but if this can't be fixed - i'd rather have blank glaringly white default Firefox new tab page than this.

Edit:

Wait, what? Did you even read my review? Or are you so lazy that you have a bot autoreply to actual people who leave less then a 5-star ratings?

Please don't give bad reviews without any explanation.

Absolutely worthless.

The add-on is working and has more than 130,000 user , so it can't be worthless.

Vielen Dank
Freddi

Found a reference to this newly updated extension and it works perfectly for my needs: I selected the option (among many) to have any blank opened tab I open show my custom home page. Thanks for a great product design!

Appears to work as advertised.

why giving a bad review if it's work as advertised?

Local files NOT SUPPORTED!!!

bad review because you can't read? really?

If you are not able to read you shouldn't give bad reviews. Local files are supported via the local file option or, without any restriction, via a local server. There are no other options for WebExtensions, so it's not the fault of New Tab Override.

Exactly what I wanted. I hated the Top Sites page that Mozilla introduced when they disabled my previous New Tab addon.

Does as described. Wish it was a bit more instantaneous, it seems to go through some short redirect process that is about a second long.

I love this app as the fact that I can always choose My Homepage that I set up and not see different ones from browser choosing or many thumbnails of past webpages visited. Every time I update Firefox, the next step I make is to make sure that New Tab Override is enabled because there is no life without it.

Deactivating the extension replaces the current tab content by a default new tab, destroying all data one is working on and even literally erasing the tab from tab history (no way to use Back). Activating the extension instead closes the current tab. Even now, the tab is completely lost in the void, because ctrl+shift+t causes a "new tab" be opened INSTEAD of the previously closed tab.

Other than that, the addon does what it has to do, and I appreciate the option to gain tab focus instead of the navigation bar. One last thing i'd find very useful is if typing into the address bar before anything gets loaded postponed the process of replacing address bar (deleting anything I've typed) and taking the focus away. Not sure if firefox even provides so much API to achieve this.

has NOTHING to do with my add-on

It's not the fault of New Tab Override that WebExtenions work this way.

Sweet and to the point! UI could use a bit of love but, I'm not going to be staring at it for hours at a time so no complaints!

It does exactly what you expect. Yet it explains clearly why some features are not implemented (such as the local url).

cool

Thank you for this add-on. It's exactly what I was looking for to make each new tab open my home (Google) page. Works great, perfect, no issues at all!!!!

It works but often it is slow. I click the new tab icon and then the tab opens and it takes a few seconds to redirect to my homepage. This is annoying when it happens so often. Firefox should have this feature built in!

I doesn't take "a few seconds" on any of my systems and there were never a similar report in all the years. Please open an issue on Github for support.
