Mozilla Archive Format 3.0 features increased compactness when saving pages, as well as several other improvements and changes over the previous versions.

The browser's standard save system and the integrated Save Complete component can still be selected from the options dialog and the internal configuration settings respectively.

– Now file associations on Windows are created correctly when using the add-on in third-party browsers based on Firefox or SeaMonkey.

Version 2.0.1 514.0 kB Works with Firefox 3.6 and later, SeaMonkey 2.1 and later

Mozilla Archive Format 2.0 provides several major enhancements over the previous versions.

For this feature to work, the option to take a faithful snapshot of the page must be selected.

– A notification bar with information about the original save date and location is now displayed for all archived pages.

– Updating to the new version can resolve problems caused by internal settings customized in previous versions, because they are reset to their default value. There is usually no need to customize those settings anymore.

* The order of the tabs is now preserved when opening and saving multi-page MAFF archives.
* Now the character set specified in MAFF archives is always enforced, and a different character set cannot be selected.
* In the multiple tab selection dialog, occasionally it was not possible to change the current selection after some time passed.

o Improved performance when saving pages containing many images or other content.
o Improved reliability in handling references to images or other content.

* In order to open MHTML files when the IE Tab extension is installed, the filter /^file:\/\/\/.*\.(mht|mhtml)$/ must be disabled from the IE Tab options.
* The Download Sort extension has a known incompatibility with MAF. The conflict cannot be resolved without proper modifications to both extensions, and Download Sort is not actively maintained at this time.
* When saving a page in an archive fails, retrying the download from the Downloads window does not achieve the expected result.
* Opening very long documents contained inside MHTML files may cause the browser to stop responding temporarily.
* With versions of Firefox prior to 3.5.3, web archive files must have a lowercase file name extension in order to be opened.

Version 0.15.1 265.2 kB Works with Firefox 3.0 - 3.5.*

* In the "Save As" dialog on Windows, the default file extension is now omitted from the suggested file name when saving. In most cases, this prevents double extensions from appearing in the names of the saved archives.
* It is now possible to configure MAF to open MAFF archives without extracting their contents to the temporary directory, thus obtaining a significant speed gain.
* Now the Preferences menu items and button bring the dialog to front if it is already open.
* In the file selection dialog of the Save In Archive commands, now the default extension for "All Files" is set appropriately on Windows.
* An error occurred when opening for the first time any archived page with no information on the original location the page was saved from.
* Improvements to the integrated Save Complete extension:
o When saving a complete web page outside of an archive, now the name of the directory containing the additional files is properly localized.
o Now the length of the names of the additional saved files is limited to 50 characters, to prevent problems when saving or when extracting archives on some file systems.
o Now pages are saved as they appear, without fetching them again from the server, in all the cases where it is possible. This may speed up saving web pages with highly dynamic content.

MAF 0.15.1 has the following known issues:

* In order to open MHTML files when the IE Tab extension is installed, the filter /^file:\/\/\/.*\.(mht|mhtml)$/ must be disabled from the IE Tab options.

* When saving a page in an archive fails, retrying the download from the Downloads window does not achieve the expected result.
* Opening very long documents contained inside MHTML files may cause the browser to stop responding temporarily.
