reviews deleted yet again Rated 1 out of 5 stars

why cant amo leave the negative reviews on, most of them are in the guidelines, ghostery now useless after ver 6 update, th gui is hopeless and not informative

The new gui make me hate this Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I don't like to visit your site every time I need to change the settings
The old GUI is too much better
I disabled this extension, uBlock is enough

AMO supports transgendered bathrooms Rated 1 out of 5 stars

So the Ghostery devs have somewhere to relieve themselves.

AMO is in bed with Ghostery Rated 1 out of 5 stars

That is reason enough for one-star.

P.S. Ghostery sucks ;)

Enter number of stars here -> Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Why can't we enter zero stars? I have found that by allowing end-users to rate poor products with zero stars, their morale is higher than end-users who have crapware like Ghostery on their devices. You make people's seasonal depression worse every year. STOP!!1

The UI is confounding and sullies an otherwise exquisite Firefox experience. In their haste to claim a better internet, they forgot to build a better app.

Negative review deleted, again! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Once a great add on.

This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Richardj Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great program, easy to use and modify. Adding and changing what works at which site is easy and intuitive. Work great not much else to say.

Hate it Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I hate how pops up and blocks a portion of the screen, every single time. It makes it difficult to remove or drop the block in order to view something. Terrible

Ghostery Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Ghostery used to be a very helpful, usable add-on. I no longer recommend it to my users because it no longer tells you what you need to know. I manage IT for small businesses.

Great adblock Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great adblocker although it needs a little work seeing how it does not block ads on every website and video playback will not work if ghostery is enabled for some sites.

V6 SUCKS!!!!! Please Keep Removing And I'll Keep Re-posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Would give neg star rating if I could, V6 stinks and they like to remove peoples reviews. The most crooked / corrupt / deceptive people I've seen in a while!!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Cool, but new V6 GUI is terrible.

I hate version 6 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Version 6 is a real pain....
Sticking to version 5....wich is a lot better and a lot less intrusive...wich is the main reason i've installed ghostery in the first place...

Most of negative reviews keep getting deleted Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It's still the matter of fact that most negative reviews are getting deleted by the developer, including 2 of my own. 900x 5-stars against 50x 1-stars is a bit a stretch, since this Add-On recieved a blast of negative reviews, beginning from version 6.
As I also did it myself, I invite everyone who reads this message (before it get's deleted into oblivion) to file an abuse complaint.

review deleted (#4) (two deletions today) Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I am attempting to set a rating with two stars to circumvent automated deletions of one star ratings.

The authors of Ghostery keep deleting reviews marked with one star.
This course of action is in stark contrast to the purpose of the add-on, which is to protect its user and his privacy.

The following review was originally written an April 1 2016, and will be re-posted each time it is deleted, with incremental counters.

You should know that Ghostery - after version 5.4.11 - uses a webpage at to make your add-on settings, and your settings are pulled from the webpage.
Essentially, this means that:
* your add-on settings are controlled by someone else, because the authoritative place to store them is not your system
* if you remove your cookies (which you should do in regular intervals, if not selectively), you lose your add-on settings
* the default add-on settings that are active after removing cookies do not block trackers or other objects, regardless of what was set before removing the cookies.
* the default settings cause the add-on to communicate usage-specific data back to Also, no notifications about library updates are checked, and marketing messages are enabled to be pushed.
Generally, the fact that an add-on to protect privacy needs a privacy statement from its author is questionable in the first place.
I recommend to better not remove reviews.

Great add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use this add-on both in Firefox and Chrome. I use the combination of this and a script blocker (NoScript for Firefox, ScriptSafe for Chrome) to increase the safety of going online.

I like the category blocking and easy ability to change settings by site.

Very few issues Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Ghostery is unobtrusive and effective, with few issues (in my experience). It is a welcome addition I am happy to have on my browser.

New User Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Being new to Ghostery I'm very pleased with its performance, I obviously can't comment on the recent update, but I've tried most of the add and tracking blockers and would put Ghostery in the top 3.
I'm very glad I added it to my browser.
