Filtaquilla preview of v1.3 / Updates needed.. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Has lacked updates since years, this application has been ignored by its author since a while & requests sent on his site are ignored year after year.

Here's the pre-release version of version 1.3:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/l29143

http://www16.zippyshare.com/v/72358277/file.html

This addon is still missing 2 options:

"My email isn't included" (for the To field..)

& the major missing regex option:
"body" .... .

Filtering in the body using regex allows the creation of combined filtered words where "i" or "you" can be used making sure anything can be present before or after "i" besides alphabet .. .

because if people use "i " & there's a word finishing with the less "i" in the body, a false positive will be considered

in a rule where "i" isn't present .. .

& this is a stupid limitation of all email clients that's never been fixed by an update.

i could use " i "

but if my word " i " is in the body but
is at the start of the body, it will be
considered as a false positive by tb,
because there's no space before " i "

so we either need a regex for the body,
or "exclusively contains" option in tb's filters. that excludes all letters of the alphabet before or after a string.

using exclusively contains for "i",
this should be positive ",i " .. .

I like it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great addon to Thunderbird.

If there is one extra function I would like is to be able to automatically print attachments. This is because alot of invoices are sent as PDF attachments, would be great if the rule sent them straight to the printer.

Extremely useful tool, works as advertised. A must have for anyone aiming for higher levels of automation.

Not supporting multi-byte characters Rated 4 out of 5 stars

As the title, while I'm trying to parse subject/author/etc to command-line, it produced one byte from each single character... this resulted in unrecognizable string.

Maybe a useful extension, but no information on how to use it available ... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Could be a useful extension if the regex filter syntax would be known. Doesn't have any information, examples or else available to learn how to use it.
The home site isn't available for now.

Huh?

The home site IS available, with documentation, as can be found from links here or a simple Google search. I have no idea what is going on with this reviewer.

Incomplete Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A very useful addon, which core element is missing imho -> regular expressions filter capabilities for matching in a message body
if you only need regex everywhere else and like nice to have features this addon is what your looking for

My favorite for notifications on Linux Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great filtering capabilities, simple yet essential for notifications, by calling the executable of my choice. I wish it could also run for chat messages !

Great for Growl... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great Extension. I wanted to add Growl notifications for specific emails,After some searching, I ended up using 'FiltaQuilla' to filter and launch GrowlNotify for specific emails. (http://www.growlforwindows.com/gfw/help/growlnotify.aspx).

Only issue I have is that I cant pass any customDBHeaters to GrowlNotify for some reason.

A really brilliant extension. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A really brilliant extension. I think it shows great insight from the author.
It's a big shame it doesn't work with Postbox yet. Hopefully he can fix it sometime :-)

Update to my last post, after nearly 3 weeks, my posts at the author's site are still not approved, and obviously haven't been answered by the author.

I think therefore there is little possibility of ANY support from the author.

If it works for you, fine, if not, you're probably best of uninstalling it rather than expecting to resolve your problem with the help of the author or his site.

This extension adds a tremendous amount of power to Thunderbird's filtering capabilities. I especially love the fact that I can suppress the new mail notification icon for selected filters. What this means is that I can suppress that alert icon on all the automated emails alerts I get for various reasons, while still getting alerts for other emails that might need my immediate attention.

This extension helps bring sanity to my inbox.

Possible extension? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This appears to be great software. However, I have added Mail Redirect (0.7.6.7) to my add ons, and would like to be able to create a filter using the Redirect command it adds to the Message menu. That is not, apparently, an allowed filter in 7.0.1.

Is it possible to add that to FiltaQuilla?

Folder name-filter does not work Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately it does not work for the reason why I use it: to have the filter applied to message with set folder name. for example let it tagged "x" if message is greater then 1000kb and in folder name "y".

We're back in business!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanx for your hard efforts and precious time spent on making this work in the latest nightlies. I really, really appreciate it. I confirm that it works fine up to latest 7.0 alphas too!

Can delete a message automatically without sending it to the trash Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was looking for this functionality (as a filter action) and found no other extension that can do it. However, it's not trivial even with this one. I post my solution here, maybe someone need it, too. I had to use a JavaScript action, with the following script:
/* delete skip trash */
let hdr = msgHdrs.queryElementAt(0, Ci.nsIMsgDBHdr);
hdr.folder.deleteMessages(msgHdrs, msgWindow, true, false, null, false);
Maybe I should have posted it to FiltaQuilla's forum, but if someone looks for an extension with this functionality, won't get to that forum.
This JavaScript-action feature makes this add-on really powerful. Even if you don't have knowledge of JavaScript and Mozilla components, you can go to FiltaQuilla's forum and ask for help! This makes this add-on even greater.

can even detach attachments to correct folder Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great. Especially the ability to detach attachments to a individually specified folders on the harddisk is a big helper.

Really takes TB filters to another level! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I needed the possibility to filter emails using regular expressions. FiltaQuilla really surprised me. An amazing add-on with many options and great potential. Works flawlessly on TB 3.1.6. I am quite sure that some of the bad reviews here are the result of users not completely understanding and mastering TB filters in general and the complexity of this extension in particular.
