Interesting Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Interesting little plugin. I've always wanted to be able to view the data Telemetry submits, and this allows that. It would be nice if it provided some info as to what the data actually means, but at least I'm now able to view it easily. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Performance/Telemetry provides an overview of how Telemetry works. Interestingly, there seems to be very little detailed documentation about Telemetry that is easily available. It seems to be a case of trawling through source code, blog posts, Bugzilla comments and IRC logs.

I wanted to give mozilla some performance data so that they can improve their products so I checked the box and installed this addon. Soon after I realized that the memory usage of firefox just exploded, and would use far more memory then it does typically. One time I only had three tabs open and it used a whole gigabyte of memory. I don't know whether it has to do with this addon or with submitting the performance data but don't want to waste my time figuring it out. And another reason, the graphs aren't very informative so if you are not tech savvy they don't really say anything unless you look up the meaning.

This addon does not change firefox behavior. It only activates when you visit about:telemetry to render that page.

Good, but I'd love better graphing of the data.

Me too, patches welcome :)

Nice, but... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It stopped working in Nightly 11.0a1 after 2011-Dec-09 with an entry in errorlog:
v.count not defined, Location: jar:[addon-id]/bootstrap.js, Line 101.

useful info Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is useful info, and I am looking forward to it being included in natively (which is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=661881).
The current addon does cause a spurious "unable to read chrome.manifest" error in the nightlies (similar to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=586610).

howdy y'all,

works quite nicely in tb6.0.2 when enabled by the ACR extension. would be rather better if it had links to the _meaning_ of the items shown. either that or some internal explanation.

take care,
lee

Great insight!
This add-on works perfectly with SeaMonkey 2.5+ too, if you set the compatibility in your install.rdf.
