My Reviews

Readability

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of the best tools there ever was for losing all the clutter on today's websites and focusing on "Only What You Want" from the page.

As someone with vision problems I can really enjoy reading again off the web without all the useless clutter.

One small but useful tip I can offer to make it even better. You can still use your browsers zoom features to make the resulting text any size your heart desires.

Adblock Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of the best add-ons ever. Most folks like that your surfing is faster since the browser does not have to do as much work. Yes that is a plus. But to me and my 76 year old mother it simply makes surfing better basically since is simpler and far less confusing to a 76 year old.

Most folks don't at all think about its benefits in keeping hazardous sites far far away. Adblock Plus can flush (filter) banners to fake web newspapers and links to other bogus sites down the toilet where they belonged in the first place...

Web of Trust, WOT: Website Reputation Ratings

Helps my 76 Year Old Mother Safe Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My 76 year old mother is only now getting used to surfing the internet. Then she first started surfing I didn't know about WOT. She would wind up doing a Google search and wind up on some fake web site claiming to be one thing only to have the site say her PC was inflected. Within the first month of her going online I had to reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows twice. I even finally dumped Windows and installed Debian Linux instead to get away from the fake sites and viruses. Then I discovered WOT by accident and reinstalled Windows. Now she simply steers well clear of ANY and all Google results that has either a RED or YELLOW flag. Now the only problems she has are viruses from emails.

Tab Scope

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I tested it under Firefox (Minefield) v4.00 Build 2010.12.26.030348 and can confirm it still works. You will first need to install the Mozilla Add-on Compatibility Reporter v0.7 to report it and other add-ons that still work.

Media Converter

Love a crashing computer? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Don't run under Linux unless you love having Firefox and your entire system hang. I have had to reboot several time before it finally worked.

You get 5 free conversions before you have to register.
If a download or our system hangs it still counts against you.

Tab Scope

Needs a progress Bar Added Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great little program to keep track of show loading pages while you read other pages. One of my main uses of Tab Scope is I let it load show pages while I read another page. Also it helps keep your surfing away from snoopers looking over your shoulder.

One feature would really put it over the top and that is is a progress bar merged into the tab.

Currently I'm using 'TAB Mix' along with Tab Scope to get this only it has a lot of features I don't really use nor need.

If something like this was added I'll then nuke TAB Mix in New York second...

Noia 2.0 (eXtreme)

3.46 is great however Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great only Noia 2.0 (eXtreme) 3.46 partially breaks the Fission 1.0 extension. It still works good enough to be used however. The center of Fission is blanked out. I can see a pair of bands in the top and bottom.
