In a little more detail...

Where appropriate my themes have a link to a user style
which can be used to "Enhance Australis Visibility".

It supplements "Classic Theme Restorer" by Aris; CTR
will be used for the large icon option and to color the tabs.
I use the default tabs on top, but not happily.

The user style is primarily to enlarge text, add icon boxes
and box shadows, and to modify the "fog" Australis uses
on the toolbars.

This is but one of many possible approaches to modifying
the new UI. Search AMO addons and the Userstyles site
for "Australis" to find them.

My Reviews

Minimal Site Block

It does work, give it a chance. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I read about this on gHacks today and installed. It
works well for domains, which is all I care about.

I agree with two earlier reviews in that it would be
easier to use if the list were accessible through a
menu. However, the dev deserves credit for making
it possible to block sites at all - enhancements later
if he can bring himself to ignore the negative reviews.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3).

Extension List Dumper

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Specifically on Mac worked fine on Aurora 29.0a2;
completely failed on Aurora 30.0a2 (about March 21).
No response from emailsupport address.
Dev's other addons all seem to have been
last updated in late 2011.

R.I.P. Extension LIst Dumper, unless somebody who knows how
picks it up and makes it well again. We can always hope.

Classic Theme Restorer (Customize UI)

Working Well With OSX Lion and Persona/Themes Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just finished setting up for Mac. Works okay with a wide variety of Persona/Themes.

(I think we should rename these themonas and end the confusion!).

My userChrome CSS now supplements this addon rather than the other way round.

It represents a tremendous amount of work in a constantly shifting environment.
Thanks to Aris for taking on the task.

Bad News for Mac Users Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Stylish 1.4.2 and Stylish-Custom Versions 0.7.9e and the replacement pointed to in the description section are incompatible. They appear to work but an import attempt completely kills Stylish - as if it's not present.

This is probably Mac specific, but I can't tell.
It was nice while it lasted. RIP, S-C!

Personas Plus

Almost There Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I noticed a new release of Personas Plus and decided to give it another try, mainly because I need the custom personas option to test personas before submiiting them. In the past Personas Plus wiped out customizing on every Firefox restart. The problem may have been only on Macs, but persisted over several OS and many Fx releases.

This works better. It wiped out my added toolbar, but after I rebuilt it subsequent restarts left it in place. Mysterious, but play Twilight Zone theme and move on.

Old Lion Fullscreen

At Last Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Worked for me.Thanks to dev because it was a pain to hide each bar individually whenever I wanted real fullscreen.

Edit 10/25: Re primordialstew review, his description is correct for 16.0.1 - when I tested it was on 15.0.1 which works fine.

It appears the choice is to back up to 15.0.1 or wait for Release 17 to see it it fixes the problem; if it does the add-on will no longer be needed.

Cleanest Addon Manager

Cuts List Length for Easy Access Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Along with Hilite Manager, helps with managing add-ons. The only glitch I've noticed is the installed date on the Appearance panel is "Unknown" except on the default. Not really a problem, just a waste of space.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.0).

Addons Manager Hilite

Sort Feature is Useful Too Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Helps make the Add-ons Manager manageable. For Appearance panel the sort alpha option is something I like, since the entries are always where I put them.

Trouble in Paradise (but not much) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Follow-up Edit: See developer's response to the original review
below. Version 0.7.9e fixes the problem with Stylish 1.3. You just
have to be willing to accept download from a non-AMO site.
Still a five but there are problems. First, note that the "official"
version is 7.7 but 7.8 has been in the Version History queue
since February 2012; I installed it back then to fix some other
problem related to Stylish - so long ago I don't remember what!

With the latest Stylish 1.3 the edit function "Save Enabled"
doesn't complete - a separate "Close" is required.

I backed up to Stylish 1.2.6, set about:config to disable update,
and will continue on as long as they run that way. I suppose life
will go on without Stylish and/or Stylish-Custom but it won't
be quite as pleasant.

Edit: Guess what? about:config
extensions.{GUID}.update.enabled = false
doen't stop updates anymore and xpi files
aren't easily accessible to change version.
Not relevant. Just needed to say it somewhere.

This Has Toolbar Buttons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have used this for a long time with no problems. Provides several button options for just about every need.

Note that Florian Wolk's add-on pointed to in No Nothing's review does not have toolbar buttons; if using keyboard only is what you want then it might be worth your time to check it out.

Saved Password Editor

Does Just What It Says and More Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Somehow I managed to review the companion Saved Password Tags but never this. It provides something - the ability to edit the Firefox password file - not available any other way.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6.3).

Best for Mac Users Rated 5 out of 5 stars

DefaultFullZoomLevel worked well for me for a long time but on later Firefox releases with Mac OS X Lion it gave up. Its author said it wasn't tested for Mac so no complaint there; he also recommended NoSquint, which works even better and has more features. Perhaps I'll use more of them some day.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.5).

Bookmarks Deiconizer

No Problems Here Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Have used with OS X Lion Firefox 10 thru 15 with none of the problems reported by others. Maybe they have addon conflicts. Anyone wanting to try it should; that's the only way to find out if it will work in any particular configuration.

Since I had a white rectangle by every bookmark menu item it was really a good thing for me.

Sort and Search Customization Dialogs

Order Out of Chaos Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Perhaps a little overstated, but after all these years eyeballing the customize pane it's really nice to have all the Toolbar Buttons add-on grouped at the end. Thanks to the dev.

Personas Expression

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

After upgrading to Mac OS X Lion and Firefox 10, I found the new chrome really hard to see and use. This add-on, used with the "Simple Transparent" persona, fixed the problem for me. PEX went from a toy to a necessity. (As compared to Personas Plus, which is as messed up as ever.)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.1).

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The problems mentioned in my previous review have been fixed. Keyboard shortcut key (for Mac) works.
A handy way to concatenate lists or documents in the clipboard using the "append with newline" option.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.0).

Password Tags

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A nice supplement to the Saved Password Editor addon. I like that it wasn't tacked on to SPE; addons work better when they don't grow like cancers.

I used this to keep the forgot-my-password hints. Not exactly tags but it works for me.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2).

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Good as far as it goes. I would like to be able to list other sites just like the other reviewers.

The direct visit option is needed. (Not be me, but by the actual owner of this computer!) Otherwise, this is a badly needed function. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It looks like I have to buck the tide and give a good review. Having given up on custom personas being fixed in my lifetime, I worked up some userChrome substitutes. Restarting Firefox for every test was a drag, so I went looking for help and found Stylish. For my limited use it was as good as I could ask; copy/paste the userChrome files and they worked immediately!

At a guess, the many unhappy reviewers were long term users of the older versions and didn't respond well to the changes. It has happened to me on other add-ons in less than 2 years using Firefox, so it must be the nature of the beast.

Anyhow, thanks to the developer for this really useful add-on.
