Didn't even work on the first try with google search, and handling all this through a 3rd party site to display it is pointless.

Sorry, but I'll just keep sticking with Foxit.

options? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

nice idea, but what's about the options? If I click on "options" in the Add-Ons menu, it will just lead me to the nodobe homepage. And there is now a ugly, useless status icon that should also contain options, but there are just three other ways that will lead me to the nodobe website. Please, remove the status icon if you don't plan to integrate useful options. It's just wasting space. I've deactivated it for the meantime with "organize status bar".

What's up with accounts? Addons like this should not need one. Sounds scam to me.

If you offer minimal services and than expect the user to pay for "real use" than why would we give up our foxit reader or adobe? the whole point of switching would be free, open source, minimal space use on the hard drive, and efficiency..........this add on needs some changes

NODOBE IS FREE

The Vuzit publishing solutions are where the pricing model applies, not Nodobe. Sorry for the confusion.

Developer claims it will read powerpoint files. I clicked SEVERAL

Did you right-click or left-click?

You must right-click a link, and select "Open Link in New Tab with Nodobe". Is this what you did? If you are expecting us to take over the left-click functionality, then I'm sorry but it isn't how the extension works. Thank you.

Love the concept hate the sign up requirement Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Great idea, the sign up requirement is totally objectionable. Could have been a leading plug-in contender but the sign up is self defeating in terms of adoption. Also the plug-in should be able to view documents locally as well. Updated in Oct 2008 it should also support the latest document versions from Office and performance needs improvement. Plenty of work to do here.

Es necesario registrarse en un sitio para poder usar el complemento. Eso no es algo que me guste mucho.

Pointless plugin, the need to sign up. It was much slower than Adobe.

Far slower than adobe. No practical advantage to default viewers. Plus, having to register bites.

Good idea but vuzit costs Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Up front I must say I did not try this addon after downloading it and then looking at vuzit. The first month is free but from then on the minimum cost is $30/month, unless I am reading things wrong. No way is it worth it to me to even try this.

NODOBE IS FREE

jfjunk, your interpretation is incorrect. I apologize that this wasn't clear.

Vuzit's pricing does not cross over to Nodobe users. Vuzit is a document distribution service that is merely being used by Nodobe. Nodobe is completely free.

Furthermore, the Vuzit service is free for content publishers up to a certain size IN PERPETUITY.

I hope that clears things up.

In order for this to work you have to hand over your personal information and email address to some company I'm not familiar with. No thanks, I'll stick with Quartz PDF Plugin who doesn't require you to give up any of your info at all.

Nodobe? No PDF either! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I run freeBSD and Firefox. I was looking for a way to view PDF Files on the web and on my local machine. I create an account on the Firefox add-on site so I can install the Nodobe Plug-in/Add-on, and I restart Firefox. So far so good. I navigate to a PDF File on my local drive... *45 second Drum roll while the page tries to load.* Ta Da! the "Open with / save file" dialog box pops up. Wow, didn't expect that. What a waste of my play time!
