Contact Tabs

Useful addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful because of the search by any field feature which is great.

However "Contact Tabs supports all fields of Thunderbird's default address book" is not correct because tab display and edit mode does not include "IRC Nick" field (search engine uses it and it is possible to search by this field).

Add-ons Manager - Version Number

Great addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great add-on, but please make version number selectable as well (for ctrl+c, same as add-ons' titles).

Replying to dev's reply:
Yes, you are correct, my mistake - I thought it was selectable earlier (before Mozilla hid it). It was more of a feature request (as some addons have long version numbers). It's just applying "-moz-user-select: text;" to "#detail-version".

No Resource URI Leak

Breaks internal pages Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately this addon breaks internal browser pages. Another URI is: "view-source:".

Edit: "view-source:" works now, so +1. ;)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2.0).

New Tab Override (browser.newtab.url replacement)

Breaks session restore Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The addon is ok and I like how it works. Unfortunately due to the Fx crash on a restart of Firefox instead of showing session restore with previously opened tabs it somehow overrided also this restore manager.

Edit to reply on devs response:
OK, than it might be a bug in Firefox then. However restarting after a crash (not related to this addon of course - I had to kill Fx's process) Fx showed a new tab (about:home in my case) instead of session restore manager - never happened this way before and this addon was installed just a couple of hours earlier. Hopefully I recovered manually from a sessionstore-backups.

I've updated a bit my rating (+1), because when it works it works well however I will watch closely for further such behavior.

Referrer Control

Great addon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's a great must-have addon for anyone taking its privacy serious.

However I have one suggestion. The addon should reset (and could remember & revert on disable, just like RequestPolicy does with prefetch options) custom options for Firefox referers (especially network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy and network.http.referer.trimmingPolicy), because they are superior to the addon ones and override them. Like I said in my earlier review back in 2013.

Certificate Patrol

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great security extension. Sadly with Firefox 31 and the new key verifier changes it stopped working.

Self-Destructing Cookies

Recommended add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very good add-on for users who value own privacy. It is especially useful if we keep Firefox open for long periods. The ability to clear localStorage as well is also excellent.

The only issue I've experienced so far is that pinned tabs seems to be treated by Firefox differently - they always keep cookies even if global setting is for session only (clear on exit). So when restarting SDC eats their cookies. Of course we can use whitelist in such circumstances.

Referrer Control

Recommended add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent and very useful add-on from the privacy category. It is much easier to handle referrers now, than using temporary changes directly in about:config. Not to mention about custom source-target rules (the other similar add-ons provide whitelists or source control only which sends the same ref to all 3-p from a single site).

I wanted to suggest adding three checkboxes from options to context menu for fast access, but now I see in your wiki that policies accept wildcards/regexps so this can be achieved with a second rule - awesome!

BTW. You should point out that "skip" as well as other modes work only if "network.http.sendRefererHeader" is not 0. This setting seems to have the highest priority.
