Remove It Permanently

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Good idea in theory but doesn't work in concept. Every relevant webpage element I wanted to hide could not be hid properly with this addon. In the best case scenario a simple refresh will restore what's hidden - in other cases, the element was automatically restored. I haven't found any instance where the removal was "permanent".

If this addon could create rules for things like forums with multiple similar pages, or even if it actually did what it says it does, it would be a pretty useful addon.

Hide Caption

Definitely cannot update to 3.5 until Hide Caption is compatible. Please fix!

FireTorrent

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Does nothing at all. With FireTorrent installed, torrent files act as they always had before I installed the addon, asking me if I want to save the .torrent or open with an external application.

Hide Caption

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very useful, and something I've wanted for a long time. Between this and autoHideStatusbar I have gained a lot of previously wasted screen real estate.

4/5 because one feature is missing: the close, minimize and maximize buttons are black, which is fine if your theme is light, but mine is black. I had to dust off photoshop and invert the images in the addon install folder to make things look normal. The addon could use a black/white toggle in options and two sets of images, since this will definitely keep coming up for people.

autoHideStatusbar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I remember years back asking on the mozilla forums if an addon like this existed, only to see Regis Caspar reply to the thread having whipped this thing up due to the popularity of the idea.

If your statusbar isn't displaying something useful, it's hidden. Wouldn't run firefox without this addon.
