Search Engines Helper

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It gets the job done. It's the worst possible user interface and the documentation doesn't mention that there's no button or dialog anywhere. To add a new search engine, you have to open the extension options and navigate your filesystem to find a particular file every time. Granted, some of this is due to Firefox's limitations.

Close Tab Button Quantum

see-password

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

You have to click an icon in the address bar to show the password. I didn't notice it and it isn't mentioned in the extension's description.

I had to discover this by looking through the source code, reading about the runtime.onMessage event, reading about the pageAction.onClicked event, then searching the web to figure out what a "Page Action" is.

Taking away three stars for lack of documentation, but adding two star for developer responsiveness.

Show me the passsword!

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Conflicts with LastPass, which puts another button in the same place. The "When the password gets focus" option only seems to work on sites which have the username and password field on the same page (i.e.: Not Google, Not Yahoo, Not Microsoft).

Show/hide passwords

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

On Google's login page, it show the "Show" button on the page with the username (email address), but not the page with the password.

Remove Cookie(s) for Site

works great Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Many sites seem to develop problems that are fixed when I remove cookies for the site, then log back in. This works perfect.

The only feature I'd like to add is a setting to remove the right-click menu entry. Too many add-ons add stuff to that menu... Actually, I wish all add-ons would make those right-click menu options optional.

gtranslate

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works well. It does seem to create a little bit of a delay when selecting large blocks of text, but I don't think I would've even noticed it if I wasn't testing it and looking for problems.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.11.0.1-signed).

Easy Google Translate

Works well, but breaks Gmail Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Easy Google Translate works well on most pages, but it breaks Gmail. After archiving an email, a huge gap is created to the left of the checkboxes shifting everything over to the right.

Since there's a translate feature built in to Gmail, maybe a possible fix would be just to not load it on mail.google.com.

Translate This!

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

There isn't any "Translate This" entry in the right-click menu or toolbar button available. The author commented about a fix for Firefox 40, but the current beta version is 41. Developers should target beta, alpha, or even nightly versions... That's what they're there for.

Desktop Messenger for WA (WhatsApp™)

WhatsApp Web in a panel... just right. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's essentially the same functionality as the official web.whatsapp.com that was initially only supported on Google Chrome, but in a panel that only opens when I need it... perfect for me.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.0.1-signed).

Toolbar Autohide

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Toolbar Autohide also hides the Status-4-Evar toolbar with no way to unhide it. So, I guess it's not compatible with that extension.

Autohide Bookmarks

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The bookmark bar stays hidden. I couldn't get it to unhide with this addon enabled.

Location Bar Enhancer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I installed Location Bar Enhancer quite a while ago and it has been perfect. Now, that's just how I expect my location bar to be. It's the perfect addon... It does exactly what I wanted it to and never gets in my way.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.2.1-signed.1-let-fixed).

Pop-up Youtube Video

mouseover areas don't work properly Rated 4 out of 5 stars

As other reviewers have stated, this just opens the video in a new tab, but I kind of like that functionality.

My only problem with Pop-up Youtube Video is that the mouseover areas on the top and bottom which allow you to like/dislike a video, share it, and change the location in the video don't seem to work well. I can get there... They seem to appear when I move the mouse cursor out of the window. Then I quickly move back into the window to click on what I wanted.

Another minor problem is that the video doesn't remember its position or play when it's popped out. I have to make a mental note of the position on the YouTube page, pause it, then move the video to that time in the new tab.

Clicking on the video itself doesn't pause/play the video as on the regular YouTube page. I have to click on the pause/play button in the bottom-left corner.

Pinned GMail

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great! I don't need to actually visit the gmail site any more.

The size settings don't work exactly right for me. It's consistently bigger. The default settings create a panel that's bigger than my FF window. Set at 50% for both w/h, I get a panel that's about 75% w/h.

Gmail Manager

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It doesn't work. It just asks for the login info repeatedly. It hasn't been updated in 2 years, so I guess it was just abandoned.

InstantFox Quick Search

Reduces Firefox Functionality Rated 1 out of 5 stars

InstantFox replaces Firefox's inbuilt keyword search and the "AwesomeBar" with something that doesn't work quite as well.

The instant results feature is neat, but it works on relatively few sites.

Mozilla's own "Prospector - Instant Preview" ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/prospector-instant-preview/ ) works with Firefox functionality instead of replacing it and provides a much better experience.

New Tab JumpStart

Works great on FF 13.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Exactly what I was looking for and it works great with FF 13.0

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0

Google Redesigned

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I saw absolutely no change in the appearance, layout, or functionality of Gmail, Google Search, or Google Reader.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.1-signed).

YSlow

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Doesn't work.
Firefox 9.0.1
Firebug 1.9.0
YSlow 3.0.4

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4.1-signed.1-signed).
