HeadlinesTicker

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great addon!! I really want to give this five stars, but there is one suggestion I think is important first. That is to be able to have two feeds display at once. I use this for news and sports scores, but the news feeds I use have so many topics that it takes an hour until it gets to the sports scores feeds. I'd like to be able to see my sports feeds in continuation.

Other than that, great work, thanks so much for making this. I don't use many toolbars, so this is perfect for me, because I have so much room in my statusbar.

Cleeki - Instant Search

Where's the free dictionary? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It says it's supposed to be in the update but I can't find it. It's not on the list or in the settings either.

Pretty cool addon, been using it for a few days.

Inline Google Definitions

Great tool. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I like how fast, simple and useful it is. All I would like to see added is the searched word in the popup, because the popups sometimes hover over the word.

Would it be too much to ask for two tabs in the popup? One for Thesaurus.com and one for Dictionary.com?

Back to Google

Needs an improvement. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have to be neutral. I really do like this addon, but why does it only work on a single tab?

It won't work across tabs so this addon seems kind of... how to describe what I mean... well, let's just say if this were still the Win98 days, this addon would fit right in.

But seriously, this needs an update. This is Firefox 3! Tabbed browsing is NOT something new anymore. This addon needs to catch up with the times, man. It's a very helpful addon, if you use a single window with no tabs but since no one does that anymore, there is no use for an addon that only works for one tab.

Web surfers today flow through tabs like a good Beatles song. Tabs don't last long these days, mate. It needs to work across tabs.

YouTube Cinema

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice idea, it comes in handy when you have friends over for a party or something and just want to play videos on your big screen. for everyone to see.

A problem I found though, is the cinema page is really slow. When I mouse over the dimmed elements (such as the controller) it takes a long time for it to fully fade back in. This is only when the video is playing (in HDV or not), but when the video is paused or finished, it works up to speed.

I would like to suggest one idea. When opening the cinema tab, have it focus automatically. I have my browser set to open background tabs unfocused, because I do a lot of browsing on the fly. But I think Youtube Cinema should take immediate focus when you either select to open it from the context menu or when you have "Play Upon Clicking" enabled.

Please fix the bug with Tab Mix Plus. DeviantAnywhere is very useful and I would like to continue using it.

Speed Dial

Anyone else having problems with 0.7.2.11? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

For some reason, since I updated to the latest SpeedDial, I've been having tab trouble. My tabs keep duplicating when I single click on them. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's annoying when it does. It's especially irritating when I am trying to close a tab, but instead, it duplicates when I click the close button.... I have since disabled SpeedDial, and the problem has gone away. But I do want to continue using the addon. So please update again and try to fix the problem.

Giftag

Wow. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Giftag is a pretty cool website that lets you add items that you would like to purchase into one personal website.

But it becomes so much better with this addon.

The best thing about this addon is how easy it is to add items to your list, and how easy it is to view that list anytime, anywhere. When visiting an item on eBay or Amazon (or any and all websites) you can click on the Giftag icon in your toolbar and it opens that page into an editable screen capture tool where you can click & drag your cursor to select an image or screen area, capture it, and save it as the products thumbnail/image in your Giftag account. Click "save" and now you have that page saved to your Giftag account, with an image for it. Then, click the dropdown menu next to that icon, and you can view your Giftag items in their area at the bottom of your browser on any and every webpage, as you browse for more items to save.

This is basically a shopping basket for the web. It's genius, if you ask me.

All it needs now is a prettier interface. But it doesn't lose any stars from me over that. Other than that, I can't think of anything to else improve.

DM BBCode Extension

Needs more, much more Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This deserves 5 stars if it had more than just 2 options.

So far, it lets you wrap the url of the current page into BBCode URL tags, and IMG tags if you're viewing an image, and it lets you wrap selected text into BBCode quote tags.

It needs the ability to allow a user to wrap selected text in tags for bold [b], italics [i], and many other common BBCode tags that people use daily.

I really don't know why those aren't already implemented. The quote tags are useful, though, so is the URL tags for the current page.

SUGGESTION: make this extension usable in textareas so we can simply select/rightclick on what we are posting and add tags to a word or sentence, or even a paragraph. Then this extension will be AMAZING and extremely useful for forum goers everywhere.

-Edited to respond to Developer comment: Thanks, mate. I just now realized that it works with IMG tags. Very nice, I've already used it. I tried editing my review earlier when I figured this out, hopefully my review gets approved soon.

By the way, I really do hope you look into making this usable in textarea's. Good luck.

Veoh Video Compass

Useful, but needs options Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is an excellent addon. It adds videos that are related to web searches. So it's like having a video search along with your web searches.

But I wish it had options to choose from. I don't like how the video results are displayed at the top of the page. I would prefer if the results were in a fixed position at the bottom of the browser window, or at least an option for it. It just takes up a lot of room and I think that if it's going to be so large, we should have a little more control over where it is displayed. Maybe a toggle function of some kind, to hide the video results, but leaving the related keywords bar there so we won't forget about the videos when we do a search later on.

Another thing, and this isn't the fault of Veoh, or anyone really, it's just an unfortunate thing, is that Veoh doesn't really have that many videos. I did a Google Search for "Yao Ming" and only got three results from Veoh. Yet, a video search on Google Video, for "Yao Ming," yields 6,950 results...

I can definitely see this addon being useful, and it has been, actually. But it could really be an essential tool for web searching if it supported video search results from popular websites such as Youtube, Yahoo Video or Google Video. The Veoh videos can even be displayed before Youtube, Google, or Yahoo videos, for all I care. But more results would be better. But, honestly, I don't think Veoh would ever consider this. And that's alright, I understand Veoh is popular enough not to depend on anyone else. The Veoh search results are displayed on Youtube.com and Google.com, among other sites, but it doesn't find results from those sites. I do understand that this may not be the purpose of this addon, the purpose is to see search results from Veoh, along with your other results from that certain webpage.

It's a good addon, and I recommend it. But don't expect to get the results you would from a Google Video or Youtube search. A good example of this: search "Yao Ming" on Youtube.com, and the Veoh search results will find it's only three videos related to Yao, yet you have 4,650 Youtube results right there.

Fast Dial

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

You helped me make up my mind.

I decided to try this add-on out after last posting a bad review. I figured I'd be fair and try it when it gets updated. Well I tired it and it's basically the same as SpeedDial. The only difference is you can make thumbnails transparent. Big deal...

That Userlogos website isn't anything special and didn't really have any logos of the websites I use, other than the big name websites like Youtube and Google. What's worse is that the logos it did have there were all amateur made and ugly. Too bad, huh?

SpeedDial is better than this, atleast they will have learned from Telega's mistakes and not try to abuse our trust.

Anyway, thanks again, Jhonny Terminus. I was going to give a fair review this time but after being insulted by fan of this add-on, I really don't think I should.

I am uninstalling FastDial and never looking back. Anyone looking for a replacement? Try SppedDial, and soon FoxTab will have predefined websites so 3d bookmark searching is coming. This silly, trustabusing add-on is on it's way out.

Fire.fm

Great tool, but missing one essential... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I cannot express how amazing this addon is. It allows you to take Last.fm with you everywhere you go, and control your music from the browser. It does so much more than that as well.

But there is one thing it doesn't do, although it should. I would love a way to play our library from the toolbar when logged into Last.fm. Doesn't it makes sense? Will this feature ever be implemented?

Media Converter

Better than the rest Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the only tool you need if you visit Youtube or other video sites a lot and download the videos. Before this, I used two other addons and a whole other program to do what this single tool does. I used one addon to download videos in video format, another addon to download videos in mp3 audio format , and another application to convert video formats to other video formats (i.e. FLV to AVI or MP4 etc). This addon does all of that at once, haha.

Truly a gem of an extension. Everyone should try this just to see how good it is, because if you use other extensions that do only half of what this one does, you will really appreciate Media Converter.

There are so many options to choose from before converting and downloading. My favorite? the ability to name the file.

@those who are wondering where the video is saved to: It's saved into the default folder. On the Firefox browser, click on Tools>Options>Main, and there in the Downloads section you can specify where to save downloads, just look where your downloads have been going to :)

Capture Fox

Awesome tool! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It's easy to use and integrates with Firefox. The captures look like perfect quality.

I was wondering one thing though. Will we be getting a smoother video soon, or at all? The video seems to capture images every half second or so, would it be too much to ask for a faster frame rate in the future?

Anyway, great addon!!!

GPhotospace

Be careful Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I installed, knowing I will need to give my GMail password to this website that has no associations with Google at all. But I took the risk anyway in hopes this addon would prove to be legit.

I couldn't find any proof. I uploaded photos into it, but they uploaded in a blink. If high res photos such as the ones I uploaded into this thing took a split second to upload, then why haven't the big name image sites figured this out? It would take me minutes to upload my 3000x3000px photos into photobucket, but this tool did it in a blink of an eye (or less). I do wish there were things that fast but I doubt it. I got the impression that this addon didn't upload anything to my GMail account, all it did was use that same photo that's already on my computer and say it was in my GMail account, which would explain why there was absolutely no uploading time. I couldn't even find any of those photos in my GMail... GMail didn't get notified of any incoming photos/emails/attachments either! They aren't in my GMail!!!

So what is Gphotospace doing with my photos? Not uploading them to GMail, that's for damn sure. But the real question is if Gphotospace isn't uploading my photos to my GMail account, what is it doing with my GMail password?

These guys aren't that slick, how long do you expect people to use this addon before they notice that it isn't uploading anything to GMail like it's supposed to?

I was also wondering, why do I not have my normal rightclick context menu when signing in to GMail via the Gphotospace sign in page? More mystery. With the lack of usefulness Gphotospace has, the risk of giving this website your GMail password is way too high.

Just use Photobucket or Imageshack, or any other image site out there that supplies you with more than enough storage than you need. Until the people behind Gphotospace can even prove they are uploading your photos into GMail, don't give them your password.

One last thing, I don't want any developer replies telling me whats on their privacy statement and terms of use and all that. That is useless.
