Strata40

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Reverted back to 0.4.3. since the latest version was missing some features.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.2).

IdentFavIcon

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks, very useful. I have a few sites I love but I hate the plain favicon. This addon actually chooses favicons that match the sites color scheme (I hope this was intentional and not just a coincidence). I also love that it does it's job automatically for sites without a favicon. Anyway, thanks a lot, I needed this.

Google Reader Watcher

Disabling tooltip? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'd like a feature to disable the tooltip because it keeps popping up while I have the context menu open. I can easily see if the counter shows that I have unread feeds, and then I can easily rightclick to open the context menu and see which feeds are unread, and then I can click on the link to send me there via context menu. So, all I need is the context menu, I don't need the tooltip, all it does is keep getting in my way while I am viewing the context menu.

Great, great addon though. It's really useful.

Speed Dial

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

PROBLEM: I have my options set to open a thumbnail in a new background tab when I rightclick it, it used to work really well but once I upgraded to 0.9, I keep getting my rightclick context menu when I do that. I used to not get it... I've already looked in the options and tried different things, even changed the option to "do nothing" when I rightclick a thumb. But I still get my rightclick menu. Any suggestions?

HYPER-ANCHOR

Works perfect. I have a suggestion. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'll give it 5 stars because it works perfect and I have no troubles at all.

But I also have a suggestion that I hope the developer will consider. I was hoping that maybe we could be able to add anchor links to ordinary webpages, so we don't have to go into our bookmarks to get to a page we want, we can just set an anchor in a specific page and whenever we justy happen to stumble onto that page through surfing (as opposed to going to that page via our bookmarks) we will be directing to the anchor right away.

Not sure if this is even possible with the current script, but hopefully it can be implemented. As I would like to add multiple anchors to one domain, and then just cruise through that domain, going to all the pages with my anchors, without having to go to my bookmarks for 3, 4 or more pages in that domain which I have added anchors to.

Anyway, great work with this handy addon.

Feedly - Beyond Google Reader

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent tool. It's so much more nicer looking than GReader.

All I would suggest is a way to hide certain feeds. I have some feeds in my GReader that I don't want to unsubscribe from, but I also don't want to see them in Feedly. The only way to hide them in Feedly is to unsubscribe from them, and it will unsubscribe in GReader aswell. Not cool, lol. I just want to hide some subs from Feedly so I won't be bothered with them until I want to. In GReader, I don't even need to click on the feed, but in Feedly, the feed automatically shows in My Digest when no other feeds have been updated.

We just need a simple way to add a sub to a hide list that will prevent that sub from showing.

Other than that, Feedly is awesome and easy to use. It makes my daily routine of checking my feeds so much more fun. It's stylish, fast, and customizable.

Keep up the great work with this add on.

MultiMediaWebRecorder

WOW! get rid of DownloadHelper right now! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This catches everything that plays in your browser. Well, everything that has played in my browser.

IT EVEN CATCHES MUSIC PLAYED WITH THE FIRE.FM ADD ON. It just doesn't catch the names of the songs. Although you can just select the nameless entry and rename it.

It has caught and recorded every media that I have played, on many sites. Even Google Video and Youtube. Among others. It catches music from Imeem, but it didn't catch the videos. Imeems videos weren't even playing for me, so maybe that was the problem.

The "Shelf" sidebar also saves links to all the media you've watched and listened to. But the files aren't saved, which helps with not slowing your browser down. If you want an older video back, just rightclick on it in the Shelf, and go to it's webpage to begin recording again and save.

It doesn't seem to need to add sites like DownloadHelper needs to. This seems to literally record any media playing in your browser from any website, and then allows you to save it when recording is done.

It even lets you preview the media in the Shelf sidebar. It's truly perfect and would make anyone that loves to listen download music and videos from the web very happy. Everything is so easy to, there is no learning curve, and if you do have any problems, there was a short Help guide on the homepage that was simple to read and figure out any problem.

Try it, you have nothing to lose and so many songs and vids to gain.

Text-to-Image

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Sadly, it doesn't seem like there will be any more updates for this.

It doesn't work all of the time, but it's amazing when it does. I like the pop up feature, and the mouseover feature.

A white list would be great, I have a few sites in mind that I will be using this for often. And if it isn't going to be working all the time, there's no need in having this on for all sites.

SportsFox

Please sort by time Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great utility to keep up with my favorite teams as I surf the net.

The only thing I don't like about SportsFox is that the list of Today's Games and Tomorrows Games seems to be in no particular order, like games that start at 10:30 pm would be third on the list while other games that are in progress will be just before it and right after it, and then another game that starts at 10:30 pm would be lower down the list. I figured all games at 10:30 pm would be right after each other on the list.

I was just hoping to have the list of games sorted by the time of the game. Right now it looks like Today's Games and Tomorrows Games are not sorted.

I also suggest having our favorites teams highlighted in a different color. When I first checked this addon out, I noticed the different colors for teams (green = game in progress, purple = games at halftime) and I thought this was neat. It would be cool to have our fave teams on the list colored as well, while they are in progress, at halftime, or have yet to be played.

Great work on the addon, I think I am going to uninstall my NBA scoreboard addon and just use this.

Book Text Mark

Great idea, terrible interface Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Can't say I'm any fond of the rainbow colors, but this is a very great idea for an addon. The "Highlight" option hardly works though. So I just use the "Book Text Mark" option and just drag the rainbow bar to the area I want.

Another problem is that the bookmarks menu for Book Text Mark doesn't show my lists of saved book text marks. But since I have it in my context menu, that's alright.

The incredible usefulness of this addon deserves a high grade, despite all of the flaws I think it has. If anything gets updated or fixed, I'm hoping it will be those horrible rainbow colors.

Universal Uploader (fireuploader) for Firefox

Fantastic Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very nice addon. It's fast, easy to understand, and supports many sites. I'd ask for Photobucket and Imageshack support, but it already supports Picasaweb. And I am switching over to Picasaweb now anyway, so this addon becomes even more useful.

If it supported Gmail (sending email with attachments to our own account) it would be perfect. And it's already faster than GSpace (which already does that).

phootr: image bookmarker

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I would like an option to ignore background images. The Phootr context menu item appears over all images, even useless background images.

Chromin Frame

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've found a few bugs that I would like to bring to the authors attention. Using Firefox 3.0.5 on Windows XP, with a 1024x768 screen resolution.

1.) When having many tabs open that exceed the width of the browser (seven tabs for me, with six tabs viewable on the tabbar at once), the furthest left tab is cut off at the end, I can only see a portion of that tab (the slanted end of it). When I click that small portion, the tab to the right of it gets focused and the problem fixes. But the problem returns when selecting any other tab.

2.) I can view as many as six tabs on my screen at once on the tabbar before the tabbar becomes scrollable when opening the seventh tab. But once opening an eighth tab, the tabbar gets smaller, allowing me to view only five tabs at once. Also, the scroll arrows appear, and don't go away unless I click the right arrow. The tabbar problem only fixes when I close all but five tabs (the amount I can view on the screen at once during this problem).

3.) When having multiple tabs open, and having any of them focused except for the tab directly left of the furthest right tab, I can close the furthest right tab but scroll arrows will appear (even when I have as few as three tabs open prior to closing it). And when I click that right scroll arrow or when I select that tab, both scroll arrows disappear and the problem fixes. Note, this problem only occurs when I have TabMixPlus set to "Focus Last Selected Tab" after closing a tab, and my last selected tab is NOT the tab directly to the left of the furthest right tab.

Also, I would like to suggest making better graphics for those scroll arrows. Something that matches the Chrome theme. As of right now, there are two dark blue scroll arrows with a vertical bar between them. That vertical bar is useless and unattractive as far as I can tell, and the arrows are a bit difficult to see on the blue background of the titlebar.

Despite these problems, I will still continue to use Chromin Frame, and hope these problems are fixed in Firefox 3.0.6 and Firefox 3.1.

Pixlr Grabber

Almost perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Pixlr is a great online image editing tool. This extension makes it easier to edit online images.

This extension would be perfect if it didn't show up all the time in the context menu. It's always accessible because it tries to let you open even a background image into Pixlr. But I probably never even want to edit a background image. Images found on the Google Image search, yes, but not every image on every webpage ever... especially those tiny, useless background images.

I suggest an option to disable background images from being noticed by this addon.

Or two different context menu items, one for regular images, and one for background images. This way, when our pointer is not over a background image, but a regular image, I won't get the context menu to open a background image. This will make it easier for me and everyone else to just hide the menu item to open the background image with an addon like "Menu Editor" and unhide that menu item whenever we do want to use it. And we will only get a context menu item to open a regular image in Pixlr.

Daily Dilbert

Hasn't worked for a while now. And it doesn't work well with Chromifox or RSS Ticker. I hope it gets fixed.

FfvB - vBulletin Management for Firefox

Good, but... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I would like to agree with sween64. The ability to assign different highlight colors to friends, moderators, and threads would be great. It can be as simple as assigning one specific color to a group, it doesn't have to get as complicated as assigning different colors to individual people and threads.

I'm having the same trouble as n3b ulous. The context menu for Ffvb is mostly grayed out, except for the settings/options. The bottom bar on vB boards works just fine and it is very useful. But I'd like to highlight people and ignore threads, but can't.

Ffvb deserves all five stars, so hopefully this will get fixed. The vB board that is giving me trouble is http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/

Chromin Frame

really cool, thanks. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

There's a bug when maximized. The browser is still resizable.

Also, the titlebar looks so empty when my mouse isn't hovering over it. Please allow the title to always show in the titlebar, thanks.

Click Search

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice addon, I especially love the feature that allows you to copy a hovered word without selecting it.

But one problem I found, and hopefully can be fixed, is that when selecting multiple words, you can copy them, but you cannot copy multiple selected words in textareas, you can only copy the hovered word.

Hope this gets fixed. Thanks for the great addon.

HeadlinesTicker

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great addon!! I really want to give this five stars, but there is one suggestion I think is important first. That is to be able to have two feeds display at once. I use this for news and sports scores, but the news feeds I use have so many topics that it takes an hour until it gets to the sports scores feeds. I'd like to be able to see my sports feeds in continuation.

Other than that, great work, thanks so much for making this. I don't use many toolbars, so this is perfect for me, because I have so much room in my statusbar.
