My Reviews

TabsRight

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Testing on FF 9.0a1 (nightly at this moment), after manually editing FF maxversion parameter into install.rdf file.
I haven't observed that JS popup the 2 previuous posters described.
What I've observed is that if I don't check "Focus left tab when closing current tab" option, to focus the right tab on closing, this behavior is not always achieved. If I close tabs quickly with keyboard shortcut, sometimes I'm closing a left tab and not always a right tab, it's like it takes some time to change focus... and it's very annoying. Also, I'm not usign TabsGroup Manager that may have interfered with this option.

Now I'm using Tabs Open Relative (Modified) which perfectly fit my needs.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0-beta-3.1-signed.1-signed).

Show Anchors 4

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It is the same Show Anchors addon with a maxversion parameter change. Also, you can find the addition of nonsenses like this (yes, he actually added a photo of him with his friend, you can check the addon... don't know who's he, the one atop or the one under):
http://i.imgur.com/gPLig.jpg

It does not solve any problems about transparent context menus since FF 4. Fortunately there's a working alternative https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/show-anchors-2/

Tabs Open Relative (Modified)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Working right in FF 11.0a1 (Nightly), But it should be modified in order to create the needed options in about:config to make it work without further user intervention (as description indicates), it's quite absurd not to create them automatically, isn't it?

Scriptish

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great addon, Greasemonkey with very nice extras. And now Greasefire is compatible with it.

If you're planning to use Scriptish 1.1.3 on a FF with an es-ES locale, there's a bug in the chrome.manifest file, where it says:
... locale/es_ES/locale ...
it should say:
... locale/es-ES/locale ...
This way you won't have problems opening the addons manager the first time you open it each time you restart FF. Or you can wait for a new version or use the last Scriptish nightly build:
https://github.com/scriptish/scriptish-nightlies/downloads

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.1-signed.1-signed).

RefreshBlocker

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice extension. It also seems to work fine on FF 8.0a1 (after manually editing firefox maxversion parameter into install.rdf).

I second the people that asked for an option to place an icon on the status bar to ease the addition of white/black lists rules, and also the people asking for an option to avoid the alert message on blocked refreshments, that's something that may be alerted through statusbar icon.

The extension does what it says. That also means it doesn't work with JavaScript based refreshments. But there's a solution for that, I've succesfully tested this userscript (for GreaseMonkey or Scriptish addons) https://www.userscripts.org/scripts/show/35375 on drudgereport.com example exposed in previous reviews (after adding the URL, or a wildcard in the include list setting of the script). Would be great if this extension can integrate this feature with an addon bar icon to alert wether it is in effect or not.

Also, for your information, you can edit the extension to avoid the alert message inside the page, but be careful because this way you won't know if the extension is blocking anything unless you disable it and load the page again. To remove that message follow this steps (with 7-zip):
- Open extension .xpi with 7-zip
- Go to ..\chrome\RefreshBlocker.jar and Open Inside it.
- Go to ..\content\RefreshBlocker.js and Edit (F4) it.
- Remove code from (including, look for it):
"... this.addNotification ..."
to the (including):
"... }..."
inmediately before (excluding, look for it)
"... this.isBlocked ..."
- Close editor with OKs to saving the new file, updating the file in the compressed archive, and finally closing 7-zip.

Minimize Addon-Bar

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice addon, but I don't like it to overlay the scroll bar.

I used this userstyle (for Stylish https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/), similar to this addon, that perfectly fits my needs:
http://userstyles.org/styles/45050/addon-bar-auto-hide-fast-fade-in-slow-fade-out
May need some tweak, you can do it manually accessing the code from the userstyles list in the addon manager, it's quite easy to tweak, quite intuitive.
But there are other alternatives https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=hide+addon+bar+site%3Auserstyles.org

Anyway, I was looking for a replacement for AutoHide Statusbar addon for FF versions bellow to 4 (here you have AutoHide Statusbar 0.4.7 http://www.thunderbird-forum.de/p12521-autohidestatusbar.html#post12521 that has been removed here), that works for the addon bar of FF 4 and above. The most similar solution I have is http://userstyles.org/styles/37319/autohide-add-on-bar-fx-4 and specially the modification I posted there, which I'm using now.

About Startup

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great. Working fine.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.5.1-signed.1-signed).

Copy Link Text

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice extension, but I found it makes exactly the same as Copy Link Name addon but with twice the size of that. It is working fine on FF 7.0a1 (nightly) after editing maxversion into install.rdf file. Also, for your info, CoLT addon is a richer feature addon of this kind.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.0.1-signed).

ArchView

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great extension. Very handy the status bar button to enable or disable its function.
But it's not working for FF 4.0.1, it shows status bar button, but its context menu is showing a transparent background, and it simply is not working when you click a .zip file. It needs an update.

Add-ons Manager Dialog Returns

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Not working for me while Slim Add-on Manager is enabled on FF 6.0a1 x64 on W7x64. Otherwise working right.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0b1pre.1-signed.1-signed).

Slim Add-ons Manager

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great. It's working on FF 6.0a1 after editing maxversion in install.rdf file. It's just what I need, at least until Filter Extensions addon is updated to work on FF 4 and above versions (and even after that =) ).

I suggest to show addon description after addon name and version, even though line gets trimmed in small screens.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.1-signed).

SafeCache

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

SafeCache 1.0 in:
http://crypto.stanford.edu/SafeCache/stanford-safecache-1.0.xpi
You can download it with Clipboard-save-as https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/clipboard-save-as/

It seems to work on FF 6.0a1 (nightly at this moment) after tweaking maxversion into install.rdf file to allow install. But also I found a strange behavior in the tests
http://crypto.stanford.edu/sameorigin/safecachetest.html
Doing refresh using cache (F5), if all cookies are allowed with SafeCache 0.9 or 1.0 on, there's some times radom id with same site cache cookies, is equal to radom id with different referrer cache cookie. Also, if third party cookies are blocked, this problem is almost constant each time I refresh; and also, random id with third party cookie don't get renewed in each refreshing, as the test designer asserts.
But I still don't know if the problem is in the extension or in the web test. If you know other site to do the same tests, please post it.

Besides it would need an update to allow install on new FF versions.
And there's also a flaw in the options box / privacy tab, where the SafeCache setting is, SafeCache assumes there's a cookie subsection like there was in FF 2, but it is not for versions beyond FF 2 , so after installing you'll find an new empty section like this http://img291.imageshack.us/i/safecacheoldcookiessect.png To fix this, you have to:
- Uncompress the extension (or the easy way, open it with 7-zip file manager).
- Uncompress ..\chrome\stanford-safecache.jar (or open it nested with 7-zip file manager).
- Edit file ..\content\pref-privacy.xul (F4 in 7-zip file manager) and remove the following line:

<groupbox id="cookiesGroup">;

- Zip compress again stanford-safecache.jar and substitute the original (apply changes to file in 7-zip file manager).
- Zip compress the new .xpi file (apply changes to file in 7-zip file manager).

JavaScript Options

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Not working for FF 6.0a1 after manually editing maxversion into install.rdf file. For FF 3.# is working fine, a simple interface to acces the javascript options without diving about:config

BetterPrivacy-signed

Great addon. It seems to work fine on FF 6.0a1 after changing the maxversion in install.rdf file.

Organize Status Bar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

OSB 6.5 (http://yellow5.us/firefox/osb_0.6.5.xpi) is working fine on FF 6.0a1 x64 over W7x64, for me, after manually editing max version in intall.rdf file.

Nuke Anything Enhanced

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Working fine for FF 6.0a1 after editing max version in .rdf file to allow install.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.2.1-signed.1-signed).

Show Anchors

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It's working after editing max version in .rdf file, on FF 6.0a1 x64, but anchor context menus get transparent background, it needs an update.

QuickJava (For FF Versions 56 AND BELOW only)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It seems to work fine for FF 6.0a1 after editing max ver in .rdf file, but I'd still like to have the status bar hidden buttons in the right click drop up menu.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.2.1-signed).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Quick Locale Switcher

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Working right on firefox 8.0a1 after manually editing FF maxversion into install.rdf file. Great extension.

@Frank E, in the ftp server it seems mozilla only publishes langpacks for namoroka, beta, aurora and nightly versions. For normal version it only publishes localized bundles. Look for folders with xxxx-l10n sufix here: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/tinderbox-builds/ , maybe in ../tinderbox-builds/xxxx-l10n/install

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.4.1-signed.1-signed).

Flagfox

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A great extension. I love to have URL related services, like web translators, at 2 clicks. It seems to work well with FF 6.0a1 after doing the trick on max version.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.1.2.1-signed).
