My Reviews

Mason

Doesn't work Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I was trying to modify an application/custom-app content-type to text/plain so that Firefox would display it instead of trying to download it. I just couldn't get it to work. The 'Force Content-Type' extension did work, despite being even older than this one.

FirePin

Great little add-on (incompatible with Ghostery) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on is super simple and works well. It basically just adds a keyboard shortcut for bookmarking to pinboard, and nothing else. Awesome!

Note: Recently, the add-on "Ghostery" broke Firpin. It can be fixed by disabling Ghostery, or by editing Firpin to use https instead http. Hopefully the author will update the plugin to address this (especially since it should be using https for privacy).

Update: Recently, the add-on "Ghostery" has broken this add-on. If I can figure out how to fix it, I'll update this.

Evernote Web Clipper

Broken Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Like everything else Evernote, this used to work and now is broken. Glad I stopped paying them a while ago.

Tree Style Tab

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon is fantastic and I've used it for years. The perfect use-case is when you want to open a number of links from a page without leaving the page. Middle-clicking (Command-clicking on OS X) each link opens a new tab without leaving the current page, and Tree Style Tab groups them all together for viewing later.

For some reason the latest version (0.15.2015030601) with FF 37.0.1 isn't opening new tabs as children on Ubuntu, but works fine on OS X. I'm still troubleshooting this.

Great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is fantastic for those of use waiting for this FF bug/feature to be addressed: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=550559
It's simple and does just what it says.

YSlow

Userful but CPU suck Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Useful addon, however I notice that when it's enabled, Firefox consistently uses about 10% of my CPU, even when there's only one page open.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1.4.1-signed.1-signed).
