dabruro ... and others... I posted about this bookmarks problem and this extension.... and also pointed out where a working copy of this extension can be found... READ down the reviews and you will find it.This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
Yes, this extension on AMO currently breaks a number of basic bookmarking features.
But Frank Lion has a couple of versions of the same extension and they do not break bookmarking.
He has them named Compact Menu3 (two display versions)
Just a note: First, if samiulislam16 knew how to use either Firefox or Thunderbird He would know that all you had to do is hit the Alt key and the dropdown menu options would display... people need to learn how to use their computer applications.
And, Second... the extension works great...thank you!!
This extension is very handy but I think that an option in it would be very handy for many users. That options would be...to expand all folders when say ... the Bookmark Menu is clicked in the left pane and all folders (which currently appear in the right pane) would also expand to display any and all folders under those main ones... in other words, expand the folder tree completely so that ALL folders are displayed at once instead of having to click on each arrow to expand a folder to find another folder in it...etc.
I concur with Temp Temp... the context was not needed (at least by me) and interferes with other items that I'm used to.
Or at least provide a master options to "not" display those items... Other than that NEW enhancement this extensions is very good!
Just open up your addon manager, find Openbook, right click on it and click on Make Compatible
I'm sure that the author will do a final rel. soon ... but since it's already release for the 3.6pre ... it seems to works fine for 3.6.
As far as I can see the latest release is just another case of fixing/improving something that didn't need it! As I see it, for what looks like a major change, from a users point of view, I think that something along the lines of a completely separate extension-name should have been considered so that the end-user could install it... find out if they liked it or not and if not then simply uninstall it...thus all this negative feedback would Not be there. I give it two stars for the development effort but take away three for the bad assumptions made by the designers and development people. For me... I went back to the .99x release and will continue to use it until Firefox can no longer support it...and then I'll just put a RIL folder on my Bookmarks Bar and drag sites into it.... no big deal there. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.3).
Agree with previous reviews about this transparency effects "experimental" release... why would an experimental version be released into the Normal section of AMO? Especially with the millions of users downloading this theme... But I do have to say to the author... GREAT theme!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.68).
Enter this addon name but with .0.0.5 into Google and you'll find a copy from the author that's been bumped/updated to run with current TB's...
WORKS FINE! Thankyou!
Very handy extension....works GREAT! The sort process is soooo fast though it should probably display the completion notification for about two seconds or ?? so the user can see it.
First let me say that in life there are some small, simple and pleasant things that can happen to us and even to computers... and this is one of them and that is why this is VERY GOOD WORK!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.4).
Very nice add-on because the information is right
there when you need it...most of the time. I tried to update the bug web-page but couldn't so I'm doing it here. I set config up so that this process discplayed the data on my Yahoo task bar. It displays for some time and then is disappears...don't know when it goes away but the only way to get it back is to stop/restart FF.
