My Reviews

Dictionary Switcher

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I have the add-on since 1 or 2 years installed and in the beginning it worked nice somehow. But mostly I rightclick into the text-fields to switch the language.. and now after reinstalling FF and my add-ons (including some dictionaries) the dict-switcher shows no dictionary in the list (there is just a blank entry) and I cannot switch between the dictionaries by clicking the switcher.

So this add-on becomes somehow useless because it does nothing else as wasting space and time..

Organize Search Engines

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just found your extension. Great work! Exactly what I need.. and what I was asking for, some years ago: https://forums.mozilla.org/addons/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1328

Not longer needed for 4players but for other search engines.

Context Search

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Firefox 21 - Not working here with a fresh firefox profile. I have several search engines installed. After marking some text or just one word on a webpage and rightclicking the marking.. the context menu shows me "Search for 'textblabla' >".. but on mouse over there is no sub menu - just a small 1x1 mm grey square without any items (where the search engines should be listed) to click on.

Password Exporter

Great extension with an issue Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension is great and useful. Allows you to import/export your stored passwords in an easy way. But it has an issue with passwords where no usernamefield is saved: It cannot import it's own CSV file (especially the related passwords). I wrote an issue report at your github-support-page.

Office Black

I love this theme. Thank you DOG SURFER for explaining how to get it working with FF 20+

Speed Dial

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Still the same problem (combined with Tab Utilities) as I posted months ago here. The Speed Dial tab will not be reused/closed if you type an url into adress bar and hit enter. Please correct this finally. Check: http://tabutils.uservoice.com/forums/43097-general/suggestions/849073-reuse-blank-tabs-with-home-page-or-user-defined-

Tab Utilities

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

WTF! I made the FF update from version 8 (or 9) to version 10 and FF didn't told me that TU will not work with version 10?? Now I lost all my pinned tabs on tab row! Please correct this and give us an update! With downgrade to 9.0.1 TU is working fine and I got my pinned tabs back.

QuickWiki

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice AddOn. But Wiktionary in english only is just the half way. However.. 4 stars from me and one feature idea: Within the Wikipedia popup we can do link-clicks.. that is very nice.. but there is no possibility to step back in the popup-history..

Dictionary Switcher

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Auto detection of the language is not working. But 4 stars for the nice statusfield in the statusbar which allows fast and simple language switching. Without this feature I have to change the language by rightclick-contextmenu-submenu-leftclick. Would honor with 5 stars if the auto detection malfunction get kicked out.

Tab Popup

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I don't know why anyone enhanced TabScope and TabPreview with the recommended status. At the first view TabPopup works nicely or better. But here too the preview width is limited to about 400 pixels and changes to the preferences requieres a Firefox restart. Seems to be a PreviewDisease. 3 stars.

Tab Scope

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Halfway useful. You can setup the width and height of the preview (pixel). But it seems to be width-limited to about 400 pixels maximum. You also can setup the scale of the website picture.. but it's just a scrap of comfort. Reason: Some websites using the full browser width. These websites (upper left corner of them).. will be shown clear and nicely readable (addicted by the scale-factor). Other websites have a specified width by pixels.. they are centred in the middle of the browser screen.. and they are framed (left+right) by empty space filled with background color. These websites are mostly not nicely shown in the preview because you can (addicted by the scale-factor) just see the left (empty space) frame of the website.. and maybe little parts of text or pictures. To see always the full width of the website (1920 pixels screen width).. I have to scale the preview down to 20%.. this means 384 pixels.. this means, the website is no more discernible clearly. You have to guess which page is shown.. by distinctive colors, logos or graphics which are typical for many websites. Features like reload, step back, link click.. are not needed in a preview, I think. Any changes to the preferences requieres a Firefox restart. 2 stars for a nice idea.

Tab Preview

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Not useful. You can setup the width of the preview (pixel or percent of browser window). But it seems to be limited to about 400 pixels maximum. I would suppose that the height should follow the width proportional.. but i doesn't. No matter of the previews size.. the picture size is always scaled-down.. so the full website is shown. My screen size is 1920*1080.. a preview size of 400*200 which contains the full downscaled 1920*1080-website is somehow nice like watching tv on a wristwatch display. This means: You always have to guess which page is shown.. by distinctive colors, logos or graphics which are typical for many websites. And last but not least: Any changes to the addons preferences requieres a Firefox restart. 2 stars for a nice idea.

Tab Utilities

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice work! Comes with all needed tab functions. Works always without any problems (with 30+ other add-ons installed). Developers still active and reacting on comments / requests. This is the most important add-on next to Adblock + NoScript! My overall first money donation for free software goes to: Tab Utilities..

Fast Dial

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Looks nice. Would make things easier. Seems to be working. 3 stars..

Developers / friends would create new logos on request. +2 stars..

Developers website does not work for me. I can use it and i can read the content. But writing in the forum is not possible for spam reasons (ip address is blocked).

My provider is Alice/Hansenet. A big one in germany with millions of customers. Seems that my provider is blocked.. or maybe whole germany? For spamming? LoL. I tryed it different times from different computers with different ip addresses.. and they told me every times: "your ip address is blocked for spam reasons". Great job! = -3 stars..

FireGestures

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It would be really perfect if the ClickGestures could handle this: Click and hold right mouse button.. then click one, two, three times the left mouse button to go one, two, three points back in history (and the other way).

SSLPasswdWarning

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The red warning after clicking into a password field reminds me to the Amiga BootRom Failure Message.. or looks like an old DOS window.. or looks like these funny lines, arrows or circles which are drawn by free hand & windows paint into images where peoples want show or highlight something. It looks misplaced.. but it works. ^^
The cursor focus @ password field is lost after closing the warning.. one more click needed. This could be a feature for better security? But it seems to be a 'bug'..
The red warning is NOT shown if.. you open a website where the login form is automatically filled by the firefox password manager.. and you just have to click on the login button (no need to click into the password field). BUT after clicking the login button.. there is one more warning message. I think.. the red warning could be removed.. the second message works and would be enough.

MinimizeToTray revived

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Smart and easy to use.. works good. But it would be great if we would have an option 'always show tray icon' (not only if firefox is minimzed to tray).

FfvB - vBulletin Management for Firefox

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

VB4 not supported. VB3 is not fully supported too. Tested some VB3 boards: User management works. Thread management doesn't work (nothing found to do). Subscriptions doesn't work too (subscriptions window reload and reload but shows nothing). Tested with forums.bit-tech.net and others..

Tab Utilities

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice nice nice !
Missing just one feature: Reload a tab automatically
- never
- every 5 / 10 / 20 / 30 seconds
- every 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 / 30 minutes
- custom intervall
+ stop auto reload by clicking the firefox stop button
