I have tested this on many different computers and configurations and on every single one I can immediately see the improvement in performance compared to e.g. Adblock Plus, regardless of how powerful the system is.
µBlock is blazing fast even with 160 000 filters compared to ABP with 89 000 filters, a lot less jank and jamming, faster startup... Its amazing. Not to mention the improved blocking power, ability to block and examine behind-the-scene requests, the local caching feature if we get it back...
The only drawback is that the UI is less powerful and less informative in certain ways and there is no built-in subscription issue reporter. But I can live with the certain UI drawbacks, since the performance, blocking power improvements and other features make up for it tenfold.
The authors are also proactive and eager to improve the addon and I like their honesty. Cant wait to see this addon mature further.
Seems to do what its supposed to, no more annoying PDF's refusing to display inline. Thanks!
What is updated? Is this similar to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition-reloaded/ so that it also changes "file" to "attachment"? Or does this fix the longstanding bug outlined here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition/reviews/522904/ ? Or what?
Why would I install this since you dont give any info why have you forked the original? Added something nefarious?
Will update review when I get more info.
Edit: Thanks that looks interesting, but I still dont know what makes this different from the other 2 similar add-ons here. Why would I want to install this instead of the original or "reloaded" that also changes file to inline? What is updated?
Edit 2: Reviewed that one, works as intended for PDF's, nice.
Thanks for this, since the original add-on seems to be abandonware.
If you have issues with some PDF's refusing to display inline, then check out https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/always-preview/
As mentioned before, works mostly, but not always. It'd be nice if it would get fixed.
The context menu item is in the right-click context menu
Great addon, very useful, must have. Of course keep in mind the ratings are user submitted, but thats why the addon is so great.
All these mudslinging hate campaigns against this service just proves how efficient it is, makes the bad guys frustrated.
Works 100%, does its job and does it WELL!
Reported for breaking add-on policies:
"What the add-on's description doesn't say is that since version 1.3 (released on April 19th 2012) it has also sent - unencrypted - the full URL of sites visited using HTTPS, and sites viewed in Private Browsing mode, to a site called ip2info.org.
The user never realises that the data has been shared with a third-party, unless they use special tools to monitor what data is being sent from their computer.
SophosLabs researcher Xiaochuan Zhang examined the add-on, and observed the potential privacy breach in action. In the following example, he used Wireshark to view the network packets being sent and observed his request to visit a non-existent website "www.thisisapparentlyafakeservice.me" being shared with ip2info.org.
The full URL of every webpage visited is sent to the Germany-based ip2info.org website, using unencrypted connections.
Too many false positives, I noticed 4 on the first two days of using it. The devs were quick to fix them after notifying about it though. But still too bad quality control for my taste
The interface can be a little confusing as well.
I dont know what the user before me has injected into his veins, but this addon works with Fx13 perfectly, no problems.
Found this addon to be the culprit of massive performance problems with Firefox, slowing Firefox startup a LOT, causing freezing every time loading Twitter and generally slowing browsing down.
Going to check Ghostery out if theres less problems with it.
Real time saver, just what I was looking for!
Let's you "paint" text and quickly BBCode wrap it.
Does it's job but still has a few "flaw"s worth mention:- Please add better PNG compression, currently it's not very efficient- I wonder why the 'Annotate Your Screenshot' -page, that shows up after taking a screenshot of a webpage showing you the screenshot and letting you edit it, has content over the internet such as 'http://readict.com/promotion/ff/script-for-AW.js' and 'https://ssl.google-analytics.com/ga.js'This review is for a previous version of the add-on (184.108.40.206-signed).
Just simply a great extension.
Simple, but still powerful and does it's job well.
Thanks for it!
