One of the best online services ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars
LastPass is a godsend for anyone who wants to make the transition to using a different password for each of his or her online accounts.
We all know that reusing passwords is generally a bad idea. One compromised account could mean that they are all compromised, especially if some of those accounts are stored using less-than-ideally secure methods or are managed by companies that are likely targets for hackers. However, it's a pain to remember several passwords, let alone a different one for each of the tens or hundreds of accounts that you use. And writing them down on paper or in a file is both inconvenient and a security risk of its own. In practice, with very few exceptions, everyone uses the same password for almost all accounts. And that password is often not a very good one.
Enter LastPass. It provides secure centralized storage of an unlimited number of passwords for an unlimited number of accounts. You can organize the accounts by category and access their credentials via a secure web interface. It can generate passwords for you using criteria that you specify (such as number of characters, whether it should be pronounceable, and whether to include uppercase/numbers/symbols). Best of all, unlike other similar services, it integrates smoothly into all major web browsers—not just one—including Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin on Android, and Internet Explorer. Its integration automatically detects login forms and can optionally log you in automatically. It also detects other forms, which it can fill in automatically if you like. everything about it is highly configurable and very clearly designed with security and convenience in mind at all times. And thanks to its excellent and highly configurable web interface, you can access your credentials anywhere, even if you're using someone else's computer.
Plenty of other services have some of its features, but only LastPass does it all. This is definitely a keeper. It's one of the most useful services to which i've ever subscribed.
