FlashStopper

Works great for preventing video autoplay on other sites! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

More and more videos keep autoplaying as I surf the web. This add-on is excellent. What's even great is that I was able to whitelist YouTube so that videos DO autoplay there, but not anywhere else--particularly with Facebook & Yahoo. Thanks for a working add-on!

Download Flash and Video

Download Flash & Video AND Mail.ru -- a perfect match! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have an excellent dowloader for YouTube -- "YouTube Video and Audio Downloader". However for other sites, this one can't be beat. It works on many sites that other add-ons fail. It is especially helpful on Mail.ru for older music videos. Many of these are country-blocked or in horrible quality on YouTube. If you're searching for a downloader beyond YouTube, this is the one to get!

1-Click Dailymotion Video Download

Too hit & miss to be wothwhile Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I've had this add-on for about 5 years now. When this works, it's great. Other times, you have to re-load the page a couple of times to work. Now it doesn't work at all--the download button never turns dark--ever! I've now found that "Flash and Video Download" works with Dailymotion and gets the entire video! Goodbye 1-Click, I'm tired of a non-working add-on.

Video DownloadHelper

New updates fixes most things... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

First, I want to mention that this add-on DOES work, despite the other reviews. My main complaint is that it DOESN'T let you set where the videos download TO. You're just stuck with a dwhelper folder in your home directory. I want them to go into the normal Downloads directory, but no option to do so. The other negative ding is for their "help" site. IT'S A JOKE! It just gives a multiple choice list with no "my problem isn't listed above" so that you can get their email address to contact them!! In short, a [mostly] excellent add-on with a couple of small pet peeves...

Dogpile

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm finally glad to find this search and get rid of Google. Google has become too "big brother" and has even gone as far as eliminating the Google video search. It now only searches YOUTUBE videos. Dogpile's video search works the way Google's did back in '07, with EVERY video site in the results. I've switched to Ubuntu to get off of Windoze. I'm switching to Dogpile to get off of Google.

Beef Taco (Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out)

Use Selectivecookiedelete instead!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I decided to check out selectivecookiedelete & this side by side. Suddenly I noticed that I had LOADS of tracking cookies! I cleared them all, but they all came back when I reopened Firefox. As it turns out, this add-on puts ad folders into my cookie folder! Selectivecookiedelete, on the other hand, doesn't and can be set munch away all the cookies whenever you close Firefox--very nice & convenient! So, in short, skip this add-on & go with Selectivecookiedelete. You'll thank me later...

Coogle

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just a note: look for the "ColorResults" add-on if you wish to have this feature in FireFox 3. Hope this helps everyone.

Easy YouTube Video Downloader

RECOMMENDED!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Although I haven't used the HD feature yet, this DOES DOWNLOAD THE NORMAL QUALITY OF EVERY VIDEO! Yes, this downloader even downloads the stubborn videos--no more error boxes or blank downloaded videos! Finally, no more recording YouTube videos on my set-top DVD burner! Now, once again, you can get ANY video from YouTube! This downloader is a god-send and an absolute must!! =)

MediaPlayerConnectivity

Great for low-thrill surfing Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Too buggy for video player use, but excellent for low-thrills video surfing. Here's how you get it to work: Go to where you define media types, add FLV to the list & set it to a bogus program. Now all FLV ads [in websites] come up blank with a small icon inside. Now you can read your email or search text sites quicker and without distractions. THIS IS ALSO HAVEN FOR ANYONE STILL ON DIAL-UP, SINCE YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE ADS TO LOAD! However for videos, I can't quite get it to work. Oh, by the way, if you DO want to be able to watch videos like on YouTube, just simply DISABLE it and relaunch FireFox. Enjoy!
