I tried this out to see if it was trustworthy. no: the advertising industry has not earned my trust. there is no real choice in this add-on, it seems to be an all-or nothing proposition that preserve existing cookies. they still track you, you just do not see it.
Better solution: prevent requests from reaching the ad servers all together with requestpolicy extension, and noscript to prevent consumer hostile code from running in your browser

Most webpages today make third-party requests. Many of these requests are not in the user's best interest. Curb them. Don't let third parties invite themselves into your interaction with a web page. RequestPolicy prevents such third-party calls unless you deem them to be beneficial to you. Together with NoScript, it makes your web experience safer, faster, and lighter. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.24).
Without NoScript the web is a dangerous place.
NoScript (and RequestPolicy) should be part of the default distribution of any web-browser that calls itself a user-agent as opposed to a third-party-agent diverting the user's computing resources for questionable purposes.
NoScript prevents Firefox from getting entangled in a deadly web of consumer-hostile code. It's your computer, you decide what runs on it. NoScript helps you getting back ownership of your computing resources.
