To the reviewer below move your cursor to the "Download URL" text above the "Works with:" section and copy & paste the URl into a new tab or another browser and you will be able to install or download the XPI which no doubt will require you to openup the XPI archive and edit the rdf file and modify the max version parameter before you can install it on your current version of FireFox to see if it works at all.
I hope that helps. Better late than never.
Not enough great tools like this.
to the last reviewer the issues related to downloading errors are not under the developers control. Make sure you have ccokies enabled or allow mozilla.org. Often the download servers themselves can also be problematic.
Excellent work here. Would just like to see the option of not using the search bar if I don't want to for example, if I want to remove the search bar to save real estate. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.1).
Nice functionality but I'd like the option to have a status bar icon to activate as an alternative to the toolbar icon. Thank you. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1).
This rocks. I've tried some other add-ons for similar functionality but this one does exactly what it says and well.
I have Chrome, Internet Exploder, Opera and Safari, it this extension found them all and displayed them in the View menu with their icons alongside. For me it is better than having them on the right click menu although an option to do so or not would be good for those who like right clicking.
I applaude the work and concept. However I found that the add-on Open With 2.1 at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11097 provided simpler access via the View menu auto listing all my browsers Chrome, Internet Exploder, Opera and Safari automagically without and also displays their icons alongside them in the menu.
I prefer it because the right click menu is a chore to navigate for me.
Installed it on FF 3.1b3 OK. The UI looks clean and I love the idea behind the add-on extension. However I am unable to save any pre-set tabs and therefore can't really test the usability of MyTabs. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3).
I would like to have this as I think it would be a useful. I have a feeling however that this add-on may have messed up the width of my tabs. Har to be sure and it may not be the culprit. Still I would like to see the back/forward numbers only appear on the back/forward buttons and no numbers related to this on the tabs. Also the presentation or font used with the numbers should be more aesthetically pleasing. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.2009031501).
People read the instructions before complaining.
If the add-on doesn't download/install often this has nothing to do with the add-on extension itself.
Make sure you have "Accept third-party cookies" enabled, or add a cookie allow exception for "mozilla.org" before giving the developer a bad review or rating that is NOT under their control.
This is an excellent add-on for FF offering control over its function and is discrete.
I guess someone couldn't wait. The Autocomplete add-on extension has been forked to the Cootua Autocomplete at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8659 and is FF 3.1x ready. hoowever that addon does not work for me in FF 3.1b3 and the Cootua website is under construction. The user can enable and disable bookmark, history or optional search of the Cootua Community. At least it's compatible with 3.1x
So after uninstalling the Cootua forked version, I re-enabled Autocomplete Manager and it works just fine with FF 3.1b3. Now I need to evaluate it against Peers at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6589 or similar tools.
Awesome except for that direction complaint. It's a developer thing, they just don't get usability sometimes. There is another add-on extension called "Tab Wheel Scroll" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6501 that does the same thing but is limited to scrolling within the tab bar area (not so bad) and it defaults to down going left too!! However it has a UI to be able to select your preference like this one really should too.
I'm in the process of attempting to modify the js code in this one and then update the xpi file. The only problem since I'm not a developer or programmer, is that the .jar file will not update after I modify it within the extracted xpi file (unlike rdf files which update easily . It simply reverts to the original code and date. The code appears simple enough to modify and if I can update the jar file and xpi file then I can at least install and test it to see if I can get this add-on to change the default behavior to the direction most of us seem to prefer. Don't hold your breath though.!
It installed and worked OK but I feel the icon is too large on the tab bar. Also I'm not sure if it was the cause of modifying the length of my tabs either. Still with work I think this would make a useful add-on extension to use.
What's up with the religious FUD about the logo by the reviewer below. Pure conjecture on their part.
The only negative to this add-on is that the image has to be passed to a third party site.
Text Link ROCKS!! What a time saver with this essential FF add-on. Truly outstanding thank you. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1.2009032701).
Truly Outstanding!! Replaces some really excellent tab switching apps I've used before. Rivals and I think may exceed what Apple is doing with the slightly unstable Safari for Windows 4 beta in the Top Sites cinema view of tabs. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.2).
Works like a charm even in 3.1b3. Yes I know you can mouse around and achieve the same thing but that's the beauty of a button "one click" and the task is done. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.3).
I find this add-on very useful. The status bar location is a natural one for me to use. I agree with netegg that the space to the right of the icon needs to be smaller. This add-on would make a great template for other websites or actions that I'd like. Thank you. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.15).
Colorful Tabs is a simple but very effective and yet compatible add-on extension for Firefox. I wish all add-ons were as compatible and well maintained. Well deserving of five stars. Thank you for your excellent work. I like the binaryturf.com website too. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.7).
Very cool. Does exactly what it says. Works with the Chromifox/Chromifox 2 themes just fine. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
A tool which helps you let go of IE whilst allowing you to access IE specific web pages from within FireFox. A champion and a help for FF, thank you. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.20080823).
