My Reviews

Gesturefy

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I'm giving this three stars because I appreciate the effort and I know it's not the extension-writers' fault. Realistically, though, this is 1 star compared to FireGestures and what we had before.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.14).

vimkeybindings

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Update to previous review: nice and minimal, but *does* often cause pages to "bounce" when typing in forms.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

I'm really just looking for scroll up and down — I use a trackpoint device, and moving over to the scrollbar is a pain. This extension adds that, and not much more. (With another vi keybindings extension, I kept accidentally closing tabs and getting other extra behavior I wasn't meaning.)

And this one seems to be much better about not accidentally firing when in a form — it works when it's supposed to, and lets me type otherwise.

vimkey

Upgrading to 5 stars because it now has per-site exceptions. It'd be even better if there were a GUI widget for doing this quickly, but I don't mind. (I still would like to disable u and d permanently, but it's not a big deal.) Overall, I think this is an almost-essential extension if you use a Lenovo laptop with a pointer stick or otherwise don't have a scrolling mouse.

Pretty handy. Doesn't work on sites which already do clever things with the keyboard, but doesn't interfere with them either. I'd give five stars but unfortunately there's no way to disable some of the keybindings -- I want the ones for scrolling, but hate accidentially closing or re-opening tabs with d or u.

I understand the "vertical space is precious" reasoning behind removing this, but, gah, the new way isn't nice with long URLs. So, thanks!

It's simple and works around a constant annoyance. Thanks!

Works, but loads some advertising web site while it does so. Maybe worse. There's better options.
