Thank god - something that works Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Recently Youtube has gone into a mess with all these algorithm changes etc. After trying all of the extensions, I can confirm this is the only one that will download every video format properly. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.8).
Even better now Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I admit that I was a bit confused when I stared using version 5. It would always happen that I would download that "adaptive variant" video which needs further conversion (and also not really knowing what "adaptive variant" means so I was even more confused).
But really what I wanted is just to download "normal" videos just as I did before and it does that great. The dropdown list of available formats is very clear and I just avoid ADP (adaptive variants) and everything goes fine.
Not to say you need to avoid them. But I have the feeling that a lot of users will get confused with those so I'd like to point it out.
The interface has changed but I don't see any problem with that.
I would suggest everybody to use this addon for downloading videos from websites, because it is really straighforward and gives you lots of options which you'll appreciate. For example, the ability for downloading, say only 1 video at a time and queuing others so you don't choke your connection. I've gone mad with other addons when this one wasn't working because you just couldn't queue downloads and it would kill my internet connection.
I don't want to be downing other addons, but to me they feel just not as good as this one. Always leave you wanting something more, or you quickly spot some downside.
About needing licence for converter:
I don't feel it's fair to rant about it, after all it's not an essential part of "addon". You can download videos and that is free, no limitation on that part. It's fair that these people (the developers) earn something for living. That is what enables them to continously develop this addon.
And it's not like you can't convert for free, you just get a little QR code. Is it such a big deal? I don't even seem to notice it mostly.
If QR code is problem for you, it probably means you are some kind of professional and use this for some important matters, in which case, you can pay for converter. So what's the thing?

Great, I can use it to make tabbar not go over content in fullscreen, but rather to float above it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (126.96.36.199-signed).

This is great! :)
I've been torchering myself for months by doing "Save as..." and then clicking "Save". That is OK if you do it, like, once a day, but I like going through galleries and collecting photos, and that is horribly ineffective way to do it. It makes you not want to save images anymore because it is so tedious.
I have customized Image Toobar so it shows only small save icon without text and it is very functional without making things ugly (big toolbar with text that comes by default is OK, but it is a bit clunky).
I suggest adding transparency as an option to make it even more smooth and less of "a poke in the eye", in lack of a better term :D (not that is is bad the way it is now).
5 stars! :)

great :) i don't need to have a separate download manager always sitting in tray and leeching resources..
it really does accelerate downloads (of course not by magic but by increasing number of connections to the server so it can turn against you if you overdo it :), it's not just a story, and i guess that x4 acceleration comes pretty close to reality.
clutter again Rated 4 out of 5 stars
i believe all active downloads should be kept to the left, and finished or paused or canceled (or anything else) to the right...current situation is otherwise and it makes it very hard to see what is going on...not that is it that bad..but the purpose of this addon was to make downloads more streamlined and clear and in my opinion just changing this little thing would make a lot of difference..
now i'm forced to unninstall it because it doesn't help me, and look for another extesion which does the job of organizing better... and also, i believe there is an option to remove all finished downloads from list, but it doesn't work for me (don't keep download history or sth like that)..clutter always emerges back somehow.
i really don't mean to devalue the addon, but just it seems to me that some very obvious thing about organizing download list are not there, and they are very simple to implement
