My Reviews

Search Bookmarks Button

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Quicker than searching the sidebar.

Tabs Aside!

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Does what it says. There is however room for improvement. My suggestions:

A toggle which sets whether or not put aside bookmarks get closed. Sometimes you might want to save different sets of tabs with one or more of the same tab in each.

A second toggle on whether or not set aside bookmarks are deleted from the bookmarks when restored.

The ability to set the root location of the set aside bookmark folder. This would point to the folder above it to use (currently "Other Bookmarks"). One advantage of that is that you could point this is a folder on the Bookmarks toolbar.

Maybe the ability to rename the the sub-folder the set aside folders are saved to. Currently this is the name of the active tab. Maybe what would happen is that (like the old Tab Mix Plus) you'd get a popup with a text field defaulting to that, which you could edit, before saving or cancelling.

Just some ideas. Keep up the good work.

Theme Font & Size Changer

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It was hard to find the button under FF57, and then when I found it I discovered that this addon no longer does what it used to do, which is make Firefox usable for me. Very disappionted. Not your fault, I know. The only workaround I found was given here:, and involves changing about:config values.

YouTube Plus

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This has saved me a lot of time using Youtube. This is what an addon should do.

Download Youtube Video

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

When it works it works well, but sometimes the page it takes you to going into a "refreshing loop" and download links are never shown.

Multiple Tab Handler

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I liked the ability to save multiple tabs as bookmarks however this would be a lot more useful if the user could define a root folder under which these were saved and maybe also be able to enter a name for the sub-folder those tabs are saved to.

Currently sets of saved tabs are saved under "Other Bookmarks". A user defined location would all for the possibility of placing that within the Bookmarks Toolbar (or where ever else the user wants) which would be easier to select if you have the toolbar showing. Or, even if you don't want it in the toolbar, being able to set the location and name of the root folder would make it clearer what's in it, like changing it to "Saved Tab Sets", or whatever.

And a user defined name is just an extra convenience, especially if all the the tabs saved have names that aren't helpful or don't indicate their content. These can be renamed later by editing bookmarks, yes, but being able to name them meaningfully when saved removes the need later.

MultiSelect Tabs

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like the idea of this addon, but the developer needs to expand the possible actions you can do with multiple selected tabs.

Opening all of them in a separate window is great, but for me it would also be really great to be able to create a set of bookmarks for these as well. I used to use Tab Mix Plus and the biggest advantage for me was the "Open Closed Tabs" function and a session manager where you could save a set of tabs to reopen later.

How would that work? After you'd picked the tabs to save and selected "Save to Bookmark Set" (or equivalent) You'd be asked for a set name. and the addon would create that a folder by that name under a certain bookmark folder (maybe predetermined, or the user could set this up to a default location, so that it could say, be under the bookmarks toolbar) and add bookmarks for each tab selected. Those could then be edited if needed like any other bookmark.

Just an idea.

This addon has always been really helpful in adding boilerplate, whether that's a signature, or a symbol like degreesC.

Classic Theme Restorer (Fx29-56)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is about the ONLY add-on that's kept me using Firefox. The Devs are as bad as the Facebook ones when it comes to changing layouts unasked. More than once I have carefully crafted a layout that is efficient for me, only to have it destroyed by a Firefox update that thought IT KNEW BETTER. :(

I do not EVER want my bloody tabs above my bookmarks and navigation bar - I have visual impairments and separating the identifying tab from it's related content just confuses me.

THIS add-on is what you need to get it back, and for that I thank whomever made it.

Text Formatting Toolbar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of the better add-ons I use, since it makes formatting text in forums that use BBCode and wikipedia pages very easy to do. My one regret is that this is no longer maintained and I can no longer add more buttons under Firefox 7 (though the ones I created under FF 4 still work!).

Custom Buttons²

Works well with Firefox Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This is an excellent extension to use with Firefox as new buttons can be added to the toolbar Customise option simply by selecting a link on the home page and installing them. However, the documentation is obscure for installing extra buttons for non-Firefox Mozilla applications such as Thunderbird, and installs from the home page automatically add the buttons to Firefox, not other applications. That is why I'm giving this a low rating for Thunderbird - it is not obvious just how to add pre-existing buttons to the application!

Works but needs tweaks Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I found this functioned as stated, but it could do with two improvements. The first is a button that could be added to a toolbar or the All-in-one side bar. The second is the ability to set your own text colour and background on the list.

Just what I was after Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I was migrating to Firefox from using Maxthon and Roboform, and wanted something similar. This is a form filler at the right level of complexity and configurability. I can have several profiles, and optional optional fields to fill.

What would make this a GREAT add-in would be a method of copying data in an existing form into a profile. That would save a lot of work.

Autofill Forms

Needs some explanation Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Like "Not Impressed" I too have come from years of using Maxthon and Roboform, and found this add-in very confusing (and, gasp, made the same error they did!). What I wanted was a simple, but customisable method of filling out forms. I might have found it with FIREFORM at instead.

This might be a good add-in if it had a help page and examples on how to use.
