My Reviews

Ghostery

To RangerX Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wish it were possible for me to reply to you directly. Regarding this:

"My only concern is that recent reviews have disappeared that questioned whether an ad blocker addon owned by an ad industry related company (Evidon) might be a conflict of interest... But I am having a problem with an addon owner deleting negative reviews."

If my understanding is correct, developers cannot delete users' reviews. We are able to delete our own, though.

As for the conflict of interest— well, I have to say I'm a little wary now that you've mentioned this affiliation, so I'm definitely going to look into it. :) Thank you for the head's up, it's much appreciated. :)

CS Lite Mod

Excellent cookie mod! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

CS Lite puts cookie control in the hands of the users, where it belongs. Love the ability to choose specific levels of allowance (allow, session, temporary, block...), as well as the options to block or allow globally.

One small note: "Deny Cookies Globally" doesn't display via the drop-down arrow since I upgraded to Firefox 20. It's odd, because "Allow Cookies Globally" is still displayed. I can still access that function, but only by right-clicking the icon to open its options window.

Anyway, thank you so much for this! I use CS Lite constantly. :)

Pearl Crescent Page Saver Basic screenshot tool

One of the best screenshot addons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've tried more than a few screenshot capture addons, and Pearl Crescent PSB is one of the best. Unlike the others, this gives the option to set shortcut keys to capture the page. It also allows one to remove or keep context menu items, (very important if you like simple menus)!

The length of pages this addon can handle is impressive. Whereas other addons gave me errors on long pages, Pearl Crescent Page Saver saved images almost 33,000 (yes, 33 THOUSAND) pixels in length! Wonderful addition to Firefox. :)

Screengrab (fix version)

Needs options to remove from context menu and add-on bar Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Well, besides not being able to save images to computer (already mentioned by others), Screengrab REALLY needs options to let us remove either the icon from the add-on bar, or the context menu options. Screengrab insists on being in both areas. Not only annoying, but redundant.

Alternatively, it would be even better if we could use a shortcut key to invoke it. As is, it resides unnecessarily in 2 areas. (The old trick to change this in about:config no longer works). :(

Abduction! - Webpage Screenshots Screen Capture

Awesome addon, needs updating to work with FF 18 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Abduction is no longer working since Firefox was upgraded to version 18. It's a shame recent user reviews are giving 1 star; this addon worked wonderfully before FF's update The creator just needs a little time to catch up.

That having been said, my only wish for upcoming versions is to increase the file size and/or dimension limit. I often cannot capture long pages because of that restriction. Chrome has at least one screenshot addon that doesn't have this limit; none for FF so far. (Can we catch up?) :)

Screenshot Pimp - Screengrab, Screen Shots, & Save Selection

Using version 2.15, no Bing or FB additions Rated 2 out of 5 stars

*Note*: I believe I accidentally flagged my last review, so I deleted it. I'm resubmitting it. My apologies*

Using version 2.15, (got it through ssgteam's post in this review section)—
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/screenshot-pimp-screengrab-scr/reviews/367519/

Works with Firefox 15.0.1 like a charm, and there is no Bing toolbar, Facebook addtions, or video download bars.

Giving this a combined rating: 5 stars for version 2.15, 0 for the current version (because addons should be free of extra junk).

Abduction! - Webpage Screenshots Screen Capture

A couple minor changes would make this excellent! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Well, Abduction does what it says on the tin, and it works flawlessly. If it had a "copy to clipboard" function (as did Screengrab), I'd be even happier. ;)

Abduction is only accessible through the menu; a toolbar icon is preferable, as I like to keep my context menus as "clean" as possible. Anyway, thanks for this, I use it regularly. :)

Screengrab

I miss Screengrab :( Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used Screengrab constantly, and I'm sorry it's not compatible with FF 15. The ability to copy to clipboard was great. I'm using Abduction instead, (thanks to nodiscc for the recommendation). It's good, but I miss the copy/paste function SG provided.

Andy M, if you're listening, please consider updating this awesome extension! :)

BugMeNot

Works... sometimes Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Bugmenot did get me into a few sites, but not others (as mentioned by various users). One of the biggest problems is the inability to submit logins to bugmenot (which users are supposed to be able to do, according to the prompt you see when bugmenot has no login for a site).

I tried several times to submit a login I created, and bugmenot's page gave me an error. Not sure why, as the login truly worked.

Ghostery

Ghostery is AWESOME! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

YES! Thank you so much for this! I just started using Ghostery a few minutes ago based on someone's recommendation. First of all, the Ghostery Configuration Wizard is brilliant. Choosing my options was a clean, easy job.

The popup that shows the sites trying to track my activity is small and unintrusive. I also totally appreciate that the user can determine how many number of seconds it displays. (Seems like the developing team thought of *everything*!)

I highly recommend Ghostery, and I'll never browse without it again.

Precise Clear History

Great extension, but missing the one thing I need Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This does what it says on the tin, the UI is easy to use, and the extension is very helpful. I also appreciate the calendar format of the time range. It is indeed very specific, down to the minute and second.

This extension would be better if:

1. "Browsing & Download History" were separated into 2 categories, the way they are on the "Settings" button in Firefox's "Privacy" tab.

2. The extension maintained the time range after closing, instead of having to be reset upon each new session.

Why I uninstalled Precise Clear History:
I like to keep my Download History far longer than my Browsing History. Unfortunately, this add-on doesn't have separate options for the 2, so I'd lose my download history when I removed the browsing history.

Note: This extension does have a "Session History" option, but of course, it doesn't deal with Browsing History.

RefControl

Doesn't seem to work with Firefox 11. Rated 2 out of 5 stars

RefControl used to show the referer as a tooltip, but it doesn't work properly with Firefox 11. When I mouse-over the icon, the word "RefControl" appears instead of showing the referer as it did before.

What happened?

Greasemonkey

Greasemonkey is now virtually unusable Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Greasemonkey is now virtually unusable. Why was the interface taken away? One of the best parts about it was the ability to easily & quickly add sites in the now-missing interface. :(

CS Lite

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I never understood why Firefox's "private data" options never included the ability to clear cookie exceptions when closing the browser. CS Lite is the answer!

QuickNote

To canadagirl Rated 5 out of 5 stars

You can name each tab by right-clicking the tab (the rename option is on the bottom of the list), or use "ctrl +shift +R".
I'm using QN 0.6.0.4, the version before the current one.
P.S. The developer has said that he's not actively working on QuickNote anymore; else, I would ditto your 1st & 3rd requests. :p

Tab Mix Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

To horror11, re: "how can i revert this update?"

1. Go to the *main* Tab Mix Plus addon page.
2. Near the bottom of the page click the "View All Versions" link.
3. Find the version you want, and click the "Add to Firefox" button.

That's it! :)

Tab Mix Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love this add-on, not fond of version 0.3.8.3.

Like -Fatal-, I switched back to 0.3.8.2 (if you're wondering how to do it, it's in the "View All Versions" link at the bottom of the page).

P.S. Even though I always enabled "show on tab -- close tab button", the little "x" icon didn't appear on the tabs in version 0.3.8.3.

All that having been said, I adore Tab Mix Plus! The tab functionalities and its ease of customization merit 5 stars in my book!

QuickNote

To - forMoz Rated 5 out of 5 stars

First of all, I'm rating this extension 10 because I use it ALL the time, and it's become a necessary commodity for me. :) I love the options for page & text bg color, having more than 1 tab, and being able to choose the location of where the data is stored.

But to forMoz, I have to empathize & offer a suggestion. Some time ago, all my data was cleared from my QuickNote sheets when I updated Firefox. :( This happened at least twice.

Ever since then, I make sure I regularly back up the user files after I store something important. Which is like... everything I store. :p

Request? I'd love to have more than 4 tabs. I know, I'm greedy. :D

Password Exporter

This is beautiful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Many, many thanks! This saves me from taking screenshots of the password manager, and putting the images in a password protected folder. (Can you believe I used to do that? lol)
