Littlefox for Firefox

Misses mark drastically Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I would give it four stars if I could change the URL field not to have the buttons INSIDE IT!!! God, how awful!!! You cannot remove the bookmark and download buttons (two I would NEVER EVER have any use for) to REALLY minimalise this thing. Also, I can't really distinguish the tiny difference between each button, so I often click the bookmarks expecting it to be "Home" that I have positioned to the right of URL field.

After that, if it had truly minimal style buttons, I would give it five stars. The buttons are far too complex and colored. I have to look for a couple of seconds at a button to know what it represents. Make a version of this with simple grey buttons and a URL field that has no permanent buttons, and you got yourself a good theme.

BTW, if anyone knows of a theme that is this "short" (minimal real estate) and has useable buttons, please reply.

Why has Mozilla removed all the screen shots? How the heck can anyone know the theme appearance if we are not allowed to see the theme appearance?

Needss grey-out for incompatible Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Would help a lot if you could make this grey-out when it is incompatible with the FF version.

Doesn't install Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This is a cheap-o project with no installer. It just downloads a jar file, and then you have to go searching all over to find out how to install from that.

Vfox3

Why no install? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I see a "Download Now" button. Where's the install? when I click "Download Now", I get the download box asking me to save "vfox3-0.9-fx.jar" I want the behavior of other add-ons, which is a direct install, not a file download. I know I can simply drop the file into the Add-ons window, but I shouldn't have to. It should install directly like other add-ons.

BennyMathew: That line is with the VFox-basic. This one has no line.

Resizer does not appear, and that is the main reason I would use this. IT IS USELESS!

PDF Plugin for Firefox on Mac OS X

Need PDF viewer for FF3.5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Any suggestions for FF 3.5.11? I don't use FF3.6.x due to very slow performance (long delays with spinning disc icon). Any PDF display option for FF3.5.11?

PDF Plugin for Firefox on Mac OS X

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I don't need an add-on that downloads PDF. That is the default behavior of FF. I need an add-on that allows viewing a PDF as a PDF in a Web page, like Safari and IE can do. Downloading a PDF before I have perused it to decide if it is what I really need to save is ignorant. That's why we need add-ons, to circumvent the various ignorant behaviors of FF. I have this add-on set for "Default action: View online" but it doesn't. That's a bug that needs fixing.

To Ruby:
Don't be silly. We didn't f*ck up anything. This is a flaky job that works for you but not for us. I have installed dozens of Add-Ons over the years, and this one sucks, plain and simple. An add-on should work as it is designed from the moment it is installed. We shouldn't have to trouble-shoot it. Maybe we should come use your computer.

PDF Download

Does nothing. I get the option to download just like the default Firefox behavior. I was hoping it could load the PDF in the page for viewing and let me decide if I want to download it after viewing (like "Firefox PDF Plugin for Mac OS X").

PDF Plugin for Firefox on Mac OS X

Seems borderline compatible with FF 3.6.6. I have used this for years, but just today, after testing something in FF 3.5.10, I switched back to FF 3.6.6, and at launch, got an incompatibility message. I solved it by uninstalling and installing.

PDF Download

Doesn't show the PDF, only a banner ad for one of the developers products across the full width of the top inch of the page and the rest of the page is blank white space. Also, even though I have the preferences set for "When viewing online: Open in the same tab", it opens in a new tab. I guess this one needs a lot of work.

There is no workaround. It will not install, even if you choose to ignore the old version. I also did the right-click thing and dragged the "addon-42-latest.xpi" file into the FF window -- same error "Cannot install". This add-on is dead in the water. Someone needs to develop another extension that allows resizing of the postage stamp sized add bookmarks window.

Hack is No-go Mac 10.5 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

With OS 10.4, the "install.rdf" hack worked. With OS 10.5, it did not. Anyone else tried the install hack on a Mac running 10.5.x with success? If so, how?

BlockSite

Need two lists Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Very bad design. The one and only list of sites has a toggle (radio buttons) to chose it to be either a black list or a white list. Why not separate lists? I can't get onelook.com to load because it gets highjacked by my ISP's goofy search site. I need to blacklist my ISP's search server and white list onelook.com

CookieSafe

Useless Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Glaring omission: no option to automatically block removed cookies!!!!!

MediaPlayerConnectivity

All errors, no play Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Nothing but error messages about javascript. Without this extension, at least a simple MP3 will play via QuickTime Plugin. With this, nothing plays unless I open it in a new window. Very odd behavior. I will uninstall now.

Aspator

This is useless. All it does is intervene to route all PDFs shown on www.uspto.gov to your email address. I can view PDFs in FF already. Why do I need to duplicate that by emailing them to myself?

Proxy, how? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Just installed this a few minutes ago. How do I set up a proxy connection? I am behind the Great FireWall of China. If you are going to suggest I send email, please provide your email address. It isn't on your profile page as far as I can see. I put a check for PhProxy, selected the PhProxy tab, selected a server (should I have clicked the + or something?), tried a domain I own but it is still filtered. What's the secret? Do you offer a Help PDF? oops -- Can't submit this without a rating. Since I haven't used it yet, I'll give 3 stars for the benefit of the doubt.

Anonymouser

Useless in China Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I assume this extension simply links to anonymouser, org and scripts in your chosen link URL into the anonymouser web page's "surf anonymously" field. That would explain why it won't work in China or within any Internet service that filters specific URLs including anonymouser.org. Now, if only I knew how to hack this thing to put in a proxy server... Then it would work in China.
