It's a good addon, but seems to rely on TabMix Plus to work(?)
Without TabMix Plus "TypeError: TabGroupsManager.overrideMethod is undefined" is being spammed into the console, and new groups display tabs from old groups.
With TabMix Plus, it works perfectly.
I like that I can create keyword searches and use them to query this addon directly (so eg I type 'h firefox' and all history thumbnails matching firefox are listed, or 'b firefox' and all bookmarks are matched instead).
I am using the history page as a 'speed dial' (sorted by visits). I would however like the ability to remove individual history items, and it would really great if I could 'one click bookmark' using the history page too. (Maybe reuse the overlay bar you have in the bookmarks page to add a bookmarks star and delete button to the previews?)
Very occasionally the History page displays a bug - whereby the history page itself becomes an entry in the history page.
Overall it's a great addon, I really recommend it!
It's a great idea, but it's currently unusable (I tested it in 24 ESR / Pale Moon 24.2 / Nightly).
Specifically, user changes aren't being persisted. EG if I click the addons icon and set the rule for "every site" to "User Policy" - now press exit - now open the menu again, the rule for "every site" has reverted to "Website's Policy".
The same is happening for every domain.
Nice! This is a real time saver.
On a fresh profile, FF24 ESR / FF25 Release :
Works only when first installed until the browser is closed. Upon restarting, the graphical representation of third party requests only displays tabs that are open - once the tabs are closed, the graphical representation forgets them.
The same is true of the list.
FF26 -> 28 - invoking the graphical representation window produces a black screen. The list view never populates.
Overall it's a pointless addon.
Does exactly what is says.
One small issue. A feature I like from the standard Firefox URL bar is that if I begin typing, a list of results from my browser history is displayed. If I mouse over a result and press "delete" - that result is removed AND removed from my browser history, whereas with Foobar the result is removed but remains in the browser history.
Regardless, it's a nice addon!
It seems that when Firefox 24 is released later this month, Tagsieve will once again work correctly (many thanks to Wagle for that information).
I tried Firefox 24 Beta and found the following :
4.3.1 - doesn't work (bookmark links are unclickable)
4.3.3 - works 100% (including sorting)
4.3.4 - doesn't work (bookmarks and tags cannot be sorted)
There seems to be incompatibility between "PrivateTabs" and "Instantfox" when used with FF20, Private Tabs are randomly dropping to none private browsing mode when information is entered into the URL bar.
I'm not sure which of the addons is causing the issue, but I can reliably recreate it doing the following :
1. On a brand new profile, install Instantfox & PrivateTabs
2. Open a new private tab (either with the "Open in Private Tab" icon or the keyboard shortcut CTRL ALT P)
3. In the private tab that opens, begin a google search using instantfox (so for example "g firefox" in the location bar)
4. Press Enter
5. The Google search opens as usual, but the tab loses "Private Browsing" mode.
This doesn't happen if I am using a Private Browsing window; only a Private Browsing tab will do this.
Whilst I'm here a couple of requests :D
1. Can you make an icon to close ALL private tabs at one time?
2. Can you make it so pre determined domains ALWAYS open in a private tab?
"None of the affected options gets cleared totally"
I lose my cookies and entire web history, which is a pita because it renders the awesomebar useless. :(
This is nice, it's allowed me to get rid of the search bar completely. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).
Working great here in 3.0pre / Win Vista SP1This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).
