My Reviews

Menu Editor

Handy but not updated Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Like another reviewer, I have noticed a problem when rendering the context menu. Sometimes it works and sometimes I have to right-click other parts of the window a few times before it works. Nothing major as far as performance goes, but it's a real pain when (like me) you have all of those unused options cluttering up the context menu.

I have used this extension for quite a while now, but it hasn't been updated in 2 years so it isn't fully compatible with the newer versions of Firefox (after v16).

Such a shame as I am a big fan of it.

Good BUT . . . Rated 4 out of 5 stars

1. Needs to added to the upper toolbar as well (or instead of) the lower addon bar.

2. Need to be able to change the text colour, as currently it is always a very dark blue, which is not visible on my black theme.

Apart from these two points, it works great!

User Agent Switcher

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Somehow I installed this on Firefox v9.0.1 and it works perfectly fine, helping me to download HDMOV movie trailers from apple.com. Doesn't slow the browser down, the button looks fine with my theme. Handy addon.

Tor-Proxy.NET Toolbar

works Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have only given this 4 stars because it could be improved. Mainly in the interface, but otherwise it works fine on Windows 7 64-bit with Firefox v3.6.1.7

A tip for anyone trying it out for the first time:
When entering the url of the website you want to visit into the TOR toolbar, DO NOT enter the "http://" or it will reply that it is not a valid web page/url. Simply put in "www." and then the webpage. This is because it automatically adds the "http://" to the beginning but doesnt check to see if you already have done it yourself.

Possible Updates Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is actually an excellant extension/toolbar. However it only rates 8/10 because of some lack of functionality which would be helpful.

1. Toolbar is not moveable when customizing toolbars.

2. Needs the ability to add new search engines in the same way as "Add To Searchbar" as well as remove old ones.

3. Would be nice to be able to multi-select the search engines so they open in seperate tabs and/or a "Search All" option.

4. Fix the problem with only the upper half of the search text being visible when using some(?) skins. (I use Impact Dark Blue).

Apart from these few "niggles" it is excellant and I hope they can be rectified/added in a new version.
