YouTube™ Flash-HTML5

Does not work for me but am I really the only one? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Anyway, will try to keep it short; but basically this causes YouTube to load a black screen. I can see the video buffering, but nothing is playing.

I click on it and then it switches to PAUSE icon. I click on it again and then it does the spinning loading graphic. If I manually jump ahead in the video it plays normally.

I do not have FLASH installed. I finally removed this and just installed - DISABLE HTML5 AUTOPLAY - and everything works normally. No flash so Firefox should be loading HTML5 by default, but the autoplay seems to load a black screen. With this OTHER Add-On it is paused and the click loads and plays the HTML5 video fine.

HTML5 Video Everywhere!

Wonderful. Something that FINALLY works... :) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have uninstalled Adobe Flash from my computer and HTML5 autoplay was driving me crazy, so I tried this and now it has all stopped. I only found TWO BUGS:

1) This stops the autoplay of videos on CNN.com, but it also requires you to click TWICE to play the video. The first click probably does some sort of "phantom load" and this stops the video from loading during that second load. Shows that it is working to stop autoplay, but would be nice to have it allow CNN.com to play with one click.

2) This breaks YouTube Comments. Initially, I thought it was Ublock Origin; but that developer got REALLY REALLY upset at people blaming his add-on. So I decided to try disabling each Add-On individually and I was surprised to see that this breaks YouTube comments.

Anyway, this is a 5 star solution because it DOES work, but I will give it 4 stars until the YouTube Comments are fixed because that one is critical.

Stop Tube HTML5

Does Not Work Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I am on Firefox 51+ 32-bit and this did nothing to stop the videos on YouTube, so I had to uninstall. Remember, you have to uninstall and remove Adobe Flash from your computer or at least from Firefox. I switched to the add-on - HTML5 Video Everywhere! - and it finally stopped autoplay of HTML5 videos. The only "bug" is on CNN.com which requires two clicks to play, but the only one I found that worked stopping autoplay.

Flash Control

This does not seem to behave with AdGuard Rated 1 out of 5 stars

AdGuard is AWESOME for blocking ads, but for some reason when I install this all of a sudden a bunch of HUGE Vs and HUGE As appear on every page. I suspect this add-on is seeing whatever AdGuard is "injecting" to block Ads as something to block. This then puts some sort of "placeholder" which is UGLY. AdGuard cannot go, so this must go but please look into this and fix it along with other problems people report. :P

Flashblock

I take it back, it still does work but... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I thought this stopped working, because suddenly I would go to CNN or YouTube and although the FLASH icon appeared I would hear Audio. It was like the video was playing in the background but it was not visible, so I did a little research and it seems it is the new HTML5 tags flying around. I suspect DivX plugin also has something to do with it, but anyway you need to install "YouTube Flash Player" to "force" Flash vs HTML5 and then you can use this as normal... PERFECT and now the rest of you will come back thanks to me. Muhahaha!!! :P

Adguard AdBlocker

AWESOME so far... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I previously saw a large A where items were being blocked, but I mistook that for AdGuard when in fact it was another add-on - Flash Control. So I have uninstalled that add-on and now this works perfectly, but I hate all these auto-play, auto-pupup, auto-this and auto-that. It looks like this is the most effective ad blocker so far, but maybe get onto Google Play and allow us to pay for this on all devices for 1$ a month like WhatsApp and LastPass... :)

ScrapBook

Extremely Impressed Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I was extremely skeptical whether this would work or not, because I have seen too many other programs promise to save everything and then did a DEFAULT save. This is not perfect but I was extremely pleased to see that it could download all the images referenced in various CSS files. The only thing that would make this PERFECT is if it could save the page and rebuild the directory structure exactly as if it were on the server. That would ROCK!!!

FlashGot Mass Downloader

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This plugin helps ALOT because GetRight does not integrate properly with Firefox. Just makes it alot easier to integrate other download accelerators, as well as the built-in Firefox downloader.
