Not yet ready.
1. 'No restart' need to install but if you don't restart nothing is displayed until you restart.
2. Even with all mails read, it still shows messages to be read, and these change from 99+ to 42 then 16, no logical reason for the numbers displayed.
Works well, would like to see more options.
Current version not catching the videos on youtube.
This is one of those simple, yet very good add-ons, however like everyone is stating, there is no close button. I enabled the option in Tab Mix Plus, however, the close button is still not shown.....
Add the close button and additional options to receive full stars.
This add-on should be removed. Although you can install it, you can't use it!
Installation went fine, followed by registration, then you can login after confirming your email address however you get "Sorry, no more registrations are allowed."
This is/was a serious waist of my time. Open for all or remove the add-on.
A great add-on however does not work with Thunderbird 6, 7, 8, or 9 (correctly). For the most part, it simply does not work on Thunderbird after 3.0.
Needs updated. The authors website provides no additional information or help.
Appears to be a dead project.
Installed without any problems. No options available in the add-ons, no menu options, nothing. Removed.....
Tested with Firefox 8.
I've been using this for some time, and it works quite well, however the add-on is putting the group name in the Firefox Titlebar. If this could be changed to not be shown at all or be an option to turn this on or off it would be considerably better.
Additionally when the option "Hide GroupBar when mouse exit toolbox" is enabled (Firefox 8), the bar is hidden and does not show no matter where the mouse is.
Does what is says, but really needs the 'unload tab' option......This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2).
Doesn't work with the September updates from Facebook....
Does nothing. Checking the source from the plug-in shows there should be a menu icon however the setting for restarting is set to 'return' thus, do nothing. The idea is great, however simply put, this extension is a waste of time.
Works great with Dictionary Switcher 1.0.1 (will most likely work with Dictionary Switcher 1.3.1, however that version doesn't work correctly with Firefox).
Simply install desired dictionary's and use Dictionary Switcher to change to the desired dictionary to spell check the page in any language, not just the default language.
Only problem I found is the text color for enabled/disabled does not follow the installed theme, black for off, dark green for on.
Doesn't work on Firefox 5. When ran on Firefox 5, I get the following message, tried several times and with several different codes:
Failed to request the recognition.
Works well at reducing the RAM usage, however at a cost. When opening a new tab after Firefox was minimized, Firefox will hange while it retakes the RAM it wants.
If Firefox is idle, the RAM usage will drop to 30 to 50 MB. When Firefox is active the RAM rockets up. Without this addon the Firefox will slowly eat your RAM (even without any addon's installed). My Firefox will use up to 1.5GB of RAM. When Firefox gets to about 700MB of RAM, Firefox becomes 'sluggish'. With this addon, Firefox get up to about 500MB of RAM, even when active.
All in all, a good addon, however, restarting Firefox is the fastest way to reclaim the RAM Firefox wants.
Great addon, however, breaks Firefox 4.X "Tabs on top" feature (not talking about the Tabs on top addon, this option is part of 4.X). It breaks it by adding a toolbar for the tabs that can not be moved
Author needs to update to follow Firefox 4.X tabs scheme.
Update: For those wanting to enable to "Tabs on top" feature found in Firefox 4.X, re-enable the option (View -> Toolbars -> Tabs on top) then open the TabGroups Manager Preferences in Add-ons, enter 20 in the "Ordinal of Tab Bar" field. This should move the tabs back above the URL field, if not, change the number until you find the right setting. Changing the number in "Ordinal of GroupBar" changes the location of the groups you created. From my testing a setting of 100 places this at the bottom of the browser window.
Tried Version 2.1b2, the results
DOES NOT work on Windows XP 32 Bit _at all_ (other then not loading the tabs at startup)
DOES WORK on Windows 7 64 Bit *IF* Load Tabs Progressively 1.6 and Tab Scope 1.1.1 are also installed. The tabs only load (on Win7) if you mouse over the tab and allow the popup from Tab Scope to show, if you click the tab, it will not load and very often the URL will also be removed from the URL field, and you'll have a blank tab (tab lost)
Keep tabs loaded DOES NOT work (WinXP & Win7) (right click 'keep pages from XXXX loaded')
This is one of the best add-on's for firefox, but simply is not working correctly; yet.5 stars when it works.
UPDATE: Installing Compatibility Reporter and setting browser.sessionstore.max_concurrent_tabs to 0 in the about:config gets the add-on working on XP like it does on Win7. But you must use the add-on Tab Scope and allow the popup to show to get the tabs to load when switching, otherwise the tabs will not be loaded and the URL may be lost completely.
Version 2.0 of this will plugin will not work 100% with FF4 (as others have stated). You can get it to work for loading however. Download the .xpi file and open it (its just a zip file). Edit the install.rdf and locate <em:maxVersion>3.6.*</em:maxVersion>, change the 3.6.* to, for example, 4.0. Save and rezip the file and rename from .zip to .xpi. Firefox will now accept the plugin.
When Firefox starts, the tabs are no longer loaded unless desired. Automatic unloading will, however, cause the loaded tab to remain loaded and a duplicate unloaded tab to be created. Changing to unloaded tabs, they will not automatically load, simply click the reload in Firefox. Note, when the plugin is updated, it will most likely not update if you make a change as described. Simply uninstall and install the updated whenever the author updates.
If you don't want to make this change, the plugin "Load Tabs Progressively" will work to slowdown Firefox loading all your tabs at once, and does work with FF4.
Can't get it to play the streaming radio station I choose/add (radio station plays fine in Windows Media Player, but not in VLC or this plugin). Other stations the plugin bring with it, appear to work fine.
The option "Show Browser Toolbar Button" is NOT in version 3.4 (fresh installed, option is not there, only thing in the tab is "Toolbar Buttons" nothing else). For those not wanting a toolbar, like me, and thinking this is a good option, be prepaired to get a toolbar anyway.
Images shown on this page do not match 3.4. Appears the author uploaded a different version then intended or didn't update the information and images on this page.
Low star rating due to options not matching discription, functionality described not available and forced toolbar.
The information is somewhat missleading. The player does not play the video(s) found on the page your looking at from the page, in the player. You have to search for those to play them. No option for doing this either. It does however play videos in its player and the player can be moved anywhere you want it. It is not an 'embeded' object in the page your looking it, you can move it next to your browser and continue surfing while watching the video you desire. Would be nice if the author offered an option to play the videos found on the page your looking it, in the player though.
Tried on a few flash games on facebook, regretfully it fails to work correctly on the majority. To bad, nice idea, though.
A few problems, and some add-on's don't work well with it, however, combining this add-on with "autoHideStatusbar" and "Tabs on top" are a great mix. Well worth taking the time to install.
Additionally "BarTab" and "Autohide Tabbar" add to the 'perfection', however, using the "Tab Mix Plus" option to place an X on each tab so that you can close the tab, causes problems when a new tab is opened from a link and "Autohide Tabbar" has the tab bar hidden; problem being, the X isn't shown.
Sure wish the author offered more then Orange for the button though......
