My Reviews

Classic Theme Restorer

Thank you Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been following this addon as well as Mozilla's own approach to theming in the more recent beta builds. The complaints I have with the new australis theme are too numerous to mention, but this addon fixes (almost) all of them.

Mozilla, what gives with the uber rounded tabs anyways? do you actively want users to get annoyed by giving them lots of wasted space? Are chasms of space between tabs a "feature" or a "bug"?

RSS Icon

Thank you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Even though mozilla do offer a feed button in FF4 (albeit hidden by default) it's been bugging me that it still sits there greyed out and wasting space when there are no feeds on the page I'm looking at. Mozilla, please at least make the icon hidden according to context! That way you can still have it as an optional item for users who still want it without making it so intrusive that it's hardly worth having. It would also help to make it more prominent to those of us who care about it when there's actually a feed available. The change from hidden to visible is a lot more noticable than from light grey on grey to dark grey on grey ;)

Unofficial Google Translate Firefox extension 1.3

works well, had to fool firefox 3.5 into accepting it Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've noticed a lot of people wanting this addon for firefox 3.5, so as a temporary fix until the developer updates it, I have edited the version check to include the newest firefox. I have tested this as working but provide no warranty, guarantee of suitability for use/intended purpose etc. use any one of the following links to download the addon, then browse to where you saved it and choose to open it with firefox. I hope this helps some of you :)

Megaupload SX.3.2

Works, needs a workaround for firefox 3 Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Okay, this extension works in a limited fashion. It will give you unlimited download slots from megaupload, however it will *not* allow parallel downloading, so you still need to wait for a file to finish downloading before starting the next one. to get it to work in firefox several small steps are required. Instructions provided for informational purposes only, I take no responsibility if your computer tries to commit suicide.

1. open a new tab and type about:config in the address bar. If a warning appears then click okay, it is there to stop novices fiddling with settings at random
2. right click on any value and create a new boolean key. Name it "extensions.checkCompatibility" (no quotes) and set the value to false.
3. on the extension page click "Ignore version check" (if you're a logged in user) or "see all versions" (if you're not).
4. The site will now allow you to download the latest version of the add on. The key you added earlier will additionally disable firefox's built in version check and force it to install the add on.

Xmarks Sync

Simple syncing that works well Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Well, this does what it says on the tin, so to speak. Being able to sync with your own server would be nice, but honestly guys, what bookmarks exactly are you saving that you mind foxmarks knowing about? Unless you're bookmarking illegal stuff or pages with password data in them (HUGE security risk on its own!) then I see no reason to be particularly bothered even if my bookmarks are saved on a third party site.
