My Reviews

Open Tabs Next to Current

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is very valuable but not working for me now in FF 44

Password Exporter

Great tool! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One thing to be aware of is that the XML specs (1.0 and 1.1) prohibit "xml" as an element or attribute name. I'd rename it "export" or just have "entries" as your root.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.1.1-signed).

HeadingsMap

Essential Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is absolutely essential for anyone who works with structured documents like specifications. Please update to work with the Firefox 43.0 though, as am not getting anything to show up now...

Find and Replace for FireFox

Works for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an awesome add-on. Not sure why it's not working for people; just right-click in a textarea.

Open in Browser

Great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Would be great if it could also be programmed to allow the URL and/or file contents to be passed to a specific file via command line (along with other arguments). Would also be great if behaviors could be made site-specific...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.13.1-signed).

EPUBReader

Great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful... Would be really nice to have search though.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.2.1.1-signed).

Desktop

Embedded URLs Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Also the ability to include embedded URLs would be extremely handy

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.11.1-signed).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Desktop

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Brilliant! A little unintuitive at first as I ended up clicking into a folder and adding things there that I really wanted at the top level and then had no way to move it out. Undo functionality would also be nice as might a background color to the desktop as a whole. This would also be a great place for sticky notes. Not sure if caching is always being used as my admittedly large image files make it a little unresponsive on first load. (Maybe a built-in image file size shrinker would help then!) But this is really clever and attractively implemented.

Search Tab

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works well to search tab by URL or title. (This should probably be added to the add-on summary and not only the description.)

HTTP Response Browser

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

A very convenient tool and promises to be a standard item in a web developer's toolbox.

An improvement over "HTTP Resource Test" in the following regards: 1) Context-aware so you can easily find response of already opened tabs. 2) Possesses more (all?) HTTP methods. 3) Syntax highlighting is nice. 4) By being a full-blown window, one can use "find" on the results. 5) Header response names are bolded. 6) Has back button and back/forward keyboard capability. 7) Gives response time. 8) Has flexibility in typing raw text for headers. 9) Convenient in being able to directly insert a header and value.

Advantages of "HTTP Resource Test" over this add-on:1) Has a way to send a message body (for POST or even GET). 2) Textarea response is convenient for copying. 3) Window is resizable. 4) More elegant in appearance as far as header request building.

General Complaints/Suggestions: 1) Syntax highlighter currently doesn't allow grabbing of source text (gives an error). 2) It would be better to retrieve current tab responses from the cache (nsICacheService) than making a new request when first opening view response. 3) It was not immediately obvious to me what the textareas are for (even though the first one becomes clear with using the pull-down), and I still am not clear on what the second one does--apparently it works with URL encoding/decoding? Anything else?. 4) A (contextual) visible forward button would be useful. 5) An option to edit the sample header/values menu contents would be awesome.

Panorama Tab Group Name

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does the trick!

Enable Bookmark All Tabs

Not working Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Not showing for me in the Bookmarks menu

Location Bar Enhancer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very creative.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.1.1-signed).

Addons Quick Search

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very nice.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.0.1.1-signed).

Toggle Find Bar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As others have said, should be default behavior, but would be better with an option to toggle with a different command because I often find I mean to call up the find bar when it is already up, and if I am editing in a textbox at the time, the words I start typing will instead go in the textbox. Maybe shift-control-F would better work to close it instead.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.1.1-signed.1-signed).

Find and Replace for FireFox

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Quite cool. Would be perfect with a regular expressions option (e.g., a checkbox), and also the option to just replace within the currently focused text element.

Searchbar Autosizer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The ability to auto-remove text from the search bar only is worth it, while the screen real estate it saves is really useful. Suggestions: 1) An optional "X" overlay to empty the contents of the search bar (if one has not opted for the automatic clearing) 2) Right-click on the search bar to go to the options. 3) Make the searchbar resizable by drag-and-drop (e.g., the minimum if the option is set to make it enlarge with typing, or as the fixed size if one has opted for the fixed option)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.14.1-signed.1-signed).

Zhong Wen

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great add-on. I think it could be improved a little bit by setting off the Chinese definition with maybe some borders around the mouseover text.

Add N Edit Cookies

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works fine for me

URN Support

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Please update for Firefox 3.6+. You could add support for the IE-specific "urn" attribute (), though I'm hopeful to see a more comprehensive defaultURI attribute instead which could allow trying other protocols (including URNs) before falling back to "href", maybe with some scripting to allow, e.g., optionally alerting the user before redirecting them to the "href".
