My Reviews

RESTClient, a debugger for RESTful web services.

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I cannot add headers after deleting any.

Offline QR generator

Working perfectly in 24.0a2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Versatile and clean. Can save the image, zoom in, change the text after generating it.
Wish: Show QR for background image.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.4).

Context Highlight

Nice! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just great! Tip: to highlight multiple words, hold Control when you click on "Highlight word".
It also works fine in 7.0 (Aurora channel); disable the compatibility check by going to about:config and creating a new boolean extensions.checkCompatibility.7.0a = false.

Context Search

Works up to 7.0a2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using it for a *long* time with a dozen engines. After installing 7.0 (currently in the Aurora channel), I disabled the compatibility check (extensions.checkCompatibility.7.0a = false in about:config), and it works fine.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.6).

Context Search RG

Nice, with a couple of flaws Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works fine as long as you have a reasonable number of search engines. My only complaints are that it doesn't work with editboxes/textareas, and that you can't reach the menu using the keyboard (the highlight skips the menu item).

Amazon "Add to Wish List" Button

functional and unobstrusive Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The button sits unobstrusively in any toolbar and shows a small (+) sign when the current page "looks like" a product page. When you click it, a movable dialog reminiscent of Facebook's "Like" feature is shown *within* the page (so it won't take the window hostage).

There you can change the item name and price (it tries to guess it from the page), pick a picture from the page, specify the wish list to add to, change the desired quantity and add a description before saving. Easy!

Hard to use with jEdit:
1. It deletes the temp file just after invoking the editor, expecting that it will be re-created. jEdit (and UltraEdit) notices this and ask whether to keep the buffer.
2. jEdit typically reuses a single process (I think UltraEdit does this too). Apparently Texto waits for the process to exit, which won't happen in this case. A work-around is to click on the button again and dismiss the warning.

Apparently "It's All Text!" monitors the temp file, which works better.
